Information
I watched Host Club on my lunch breaks when I was working as a web assistant in the summer of 2006. I really enjoyed the series because it was very funny and lighthearted. I never really thought about Cosplaying from it until my friend Pam suggested that we do it. She offered to make us the jackets (and I was just going to order a tie from eBay) since the rest of the outfit is clothes that I can find in my closet. I decided to Cosplay Haruhi because I really liked her personality and Pam was planning to first Cosplay Tamaki and later Kyouya. We wanted to wear these costumes to MTAC but circumstances prevented that and due to other plans, we couldn't wear these costumes to AN and FaneXpo either. Eventually as a gift, Pam sent me the jacket with a crest from eBay and a tie that she fixed up for me in December. It was really nice of her to do that. (^^) She mailed them to me through VIA Rail and I ended up picking up this costume (along with a Christmas outfit of Mikan from Gakuen Alice) while I was at December Toronto AnimeCON. :3 The jacket is quite nice and is a pretty shade of blue. The material does not iron though. I decided to bring this costume to wear for Friday evening of Ohayocon and it wasn't till Amanda and I tried to iron it in the hotel that we learned the fabric wouldn’t iron. XD I don't have a lot of pictures of me Cosplaying Haruhi currently because of its wrinkly state. The wig was an eBay find which worked out ok but I forgot how Haruhi parts her bangs and I parted my wig on the wrong side for pictures at the con. (^^);; The lobby of the Drury was a great setting for Host Club photos complete with pretty couches and a grand piano. :3 I may end up wearing this costume again and Cosplaying Kyouya instead of Haruhi (since it would be nice to wear my glasses for a costume) when I get a steamer later in the year. U of T might be a nice place for photos.
