I enjoyed Cosplaying as Ruka with my friend Pam who Cosplayed Natsume but this costume didn't turn out the way I had hoped it would. The jacket wouldn’t sit properly and I messed up altering a pattern so it would close the way it should. (>.<);; Working with velvet was not a good experience and is one of my least favourite materials to work with. The jacket was lined but the lining slipped a lot. I also really needed a better ribbon. Pam made shirts for us both so they would match and they turned out really nicely and I liked the shorts (which I did make myself). I cheated on the boots because I already had plain black boots and I didn't need to make boot covers. I also already had the wig and the rabbit from when I Cosplayed the white rabbit version of Ruka. I really like his character in the series and I love the dynamic between Ruka and Natsume. I don't plan to wear this costume again because of the jacket, but this costume did inspire me to want to Cosplay Mikan and to make her school uniform. :3
