Halloween and Youmacon are now over for another year. I had a lot of fun on Halloween despite the fact the weather was rather dreary. I did get a chance to wear my Halloween Rei costume and Stillvisions took a few photos of my outfit outside around my Halloween decorations, but the shoot was rushed because of the weather and he's not sure if the pictures turned out. As long as the weather is nice today, I'll be doing a shoot in the afternoon of my Rei costume in a nearby forested area. Although most of the leaves are gone from the trees now, I would still love to get some outdoor photos of my costume before it snows!

Youmacon was ok this year. I'm not sure if I'll bother going to it again in 2013. I found the con to be very confusing and complicated. We had to do a person shuffle for our hotel when we found out the hotel was forcing people to register their room occupants and wear wristbands. We were planning to have a 5 person room, but thankfully I was able to room with Ammie and Jay and they saved the day. Pre-registration was also a huge headache. I waited for 4 hours to get my badge on Thursday and then held Jay's spot in the pre-reg line for 2 hours on Friday. It was brutal. The lack of printed schedules made it difficult to plan out the con and I hardly ever got a chance to visit the artist alley and dealer's room over in Cobo. I just don't know if Youma is worth the hassle.

Having said that, I did still have a nice time seeing my friends and Cosplaying. Sakura finished her Halloween Asuka costume so we did a shoot at the con with SolarTempest in our matching costumes. She makes such a cute Asuka! We'll probably do a fall shoot next year for outdoor photos together. Hotaru's black dress that Ammie made me was very pretty and I had fun wearing it with her as Mistress 9. Unfortunately we could only wear the costumes for a few hours on Saturday morning so we didn't get a chance to do a proper shoot together. We'll have to find time to wear them again next year.

Jay, Ammie and I had a lot of fun re-wearing our Resident Evil 4 costumes together. Stillvisions even threw together a Dr. Salvador costume to terrorize us. :D We didn't really do a shoot in these costumes so we'll have to do an autumn RE4 shoot sometime too. The best part of the con was wearing our Resident Evil 6 costumes though. I absolutely love the coat Ammie made me for Sherry. It's comfy and really amazing looking. Jay did finish his Jake costume and he was Edonia Jake so he matched me. Ammie made such an epic Ada Wong! She looked like she came straight out of the game. We had so much fun in the costumes on Saturday night that we decided to re-wear them on Sunday. We did a paid shoot with Elemental and we're all eagerly awaiting the shoot photos. We also did a shoot with a photographer named Sai on Sunday and he posted his con photos already. I added the great photos that he took to my new Sherry costume page, which can be found in the Video Game costume section.

I completed the costume page for my new Halloween Rei costume, but sadly I haven't been able to find any photos of the costume so I can't post the page yet. I'll cross my fingers that some photos show up online soon. I'll create a write-up for my Hotaru costume soon and post a few hallway shots of it.

In other exciting news, I was picked to be the female Cosplayer of the month on American Cosplay Paradise. I'm quite honoured to have been chosen. The male Cosplayer of the month is Colombian_Otaku who I've met at Anime North and he's a really great Cosplayer and really cool person that deserved the feature. It was a really pleasant surprise to come home from Youma and find out that I was the Acy pick of the month. I also learned just before Youmacon that my favourite photo of my Sam costume was chosen to be the October photo feature for the Youmacon 2013 calendar contest. Sadly, the calendars weren't printed in time to be sold at the con so I'm not sure if I'll ever see the calendar.

October 31st, 2012
Happy Halloween! It's now my favourite day of the year. (^^) I'm planning to go over to my friend's place tonight and decorate his front lawn and hand out candy. It should be a fun night. Given that it's the night before I leave for a con it's going to be hectic. XD I'm not quite sure how I'll manage. I was kind of hoping to get some photos of my Halloween Rei costume around the decorations, but given the weather lately and the rush of Halloween, it might not happen. I finished my Halloween Rei costume mid last week. The costume test at the Silver Snail party went pretty well. I added a few more snaps to the costume to better hold things in place, which has helped. Rei wasn't really the best choice of costume for a comic book shop's Halloween party, but I'm still glad that I checked it out.

I'm still figuring out my final costume plans for Youma. They pretty much hinge on what I can fit in my suitcase. I'm definitely bringing Halloween Rei (Evangelion figure design), Sherry (Edonia) from Resident Evil 6), Ashley from Resident Evil 4 (Ammie and The Letter Jay asked me to bring Ashley as they'll be Cosplaying Ada and Leon) and Hotaru from Sailor Moon S. The Hotaru costume was suggested by Ammie a couple of weeks ago. She wanted to make a Mistress 9 costume for herself, but wanted company so she offered to make Hotaru's black dress outfit for me as a Christmas gift. I'm really thrilled to Cosplay Hotaru again. I'll probably bring the staff that I commissioned from my friend Adrien so I can get some photos of it. It's kind of artsy to go with the outfit.

Just as an aside, I know I posted last week that I was expecting my boots for Sherry in the mail from a Chinese eBay seller. While the seller screwed up again and sent them to the wrong address which was in New Brunswick. Instead late last week I asked Jay to order boots for me from an American seller and he got the boots in just a couple of days since he lives in Michigan. What a difference! I’ll get them from him at con and I really hope they fit. XD At least I got a full refund from the bad seller. I'm not sure what lesson to take away from that. The seller was very incompetent!

As it currently stands for Youma, I'll probably wear Halloween Rei on Friday and maybe change into something else for Friday night, Saturday will be Ashley and Sherry and Sunday will be Hotaru. I might also wear Hotaru on Thursday night. We'll see. I'm debating bringing Integra as another costume option, but I'll see if I can pack it. I'm hoping Youma will be really fun this year. If not I probably won't be going back again if the con conflicts with Halloween. It should be exciting to Cosplay with Ammie for Resident Evil and Sailor Moon. We have a shoot booked with Elemental for RE6, which should be really good. Anyway, for everyone going have a nice Youmacon! Also, have a wonderful and spooky Halloween!

I'm just about to finish up my Halloween Rei costume. It's been a work in progress for so long that I'm happy I'll be done with it soon. It turned out pretty well too. I was really nervous about some of the parts I had to alter patterns for such as the witch hat and the over skirt, but it came together pretty well. It just took forever to sew all the ruffles on. All that’s left is that I need my wig to be trimmed and to paint green stars on some white tights and I'll be good to go. Just in the nick of time too, since I decided to go to the Silver Snail Halloween party next Saturday and I'll probably debut my Halloween Rei costume at the event. Silver Snail is a comic book shop and aside from my Batgirl dress, I don't really have anything comic appropriate to wear so I think my Halloween Lolita dress should fit the theme of Halloween and it’s something that I made myself.

I'm still waiting for my boots to arrive for my Edonia Sherry costume. As an update to that fiasco, the seller did send another pair of boots and the tracking number says the boots are in BC. They’ve been processed through customs with a delivery date of 3-7 business days as of Thursday so here is hoping I get them this week and they're perfect for the costume too. XD

Ammie suggested a surprise last minute costume idea for Youma so I should have another costume from Sailor Moon for the con. I'll post more about that closer to con. Ammie is all kinds of awesome! SolarTempest posted his photoshoots from Anime North and the Toronto Centre Island Cosplay Picnic so I added new photos to my Integral (Hellsing), Bulma (Dragon Ball) and Splicer (Bioshock) costume pages. I especially love the Splicer and Hellsing shots. I had such a fun time being in the Hellsing group! I loved Cosplaying Integral. She's such a cool character and height wise it worked out really nicely for me to match Ammie when she wore Alucard as part of the group. (^^)

Youmacon is quickly approaching. I'm still working on my Halloween Rei costume. It's been taking me a while because making and sewing on ruffles is very time consuming and I've been a bit distracted lately with playing Resident Evil 6 and getting geared up for Halloween. Aside from tackling getting the proper shape for the top of the witch hat, which has proven to be challenging, the costume has been coming along fairly smoothly. I hope to finish it up in the next week or two. I've run into some problems with my Sherry costume, though. The eBay seller I ordered boots from back at the end of August somehow shipped the boots to the wrong address and I only realized this a little while ago so I've been scrambling to contact them and have them send me a replacement pair. I'm hoping they'll arrive in time for con, but I would kind of be happy to get them at all at this point. I'll probably use my RE3 Jill boots as a backup. They're kind of falling apart, though, so I don't want to wear them again for a different costume if I can help it. I can't wait to Cosplay Sherry though! I really enjoyed her campaign with Jake in 6. RE6 was a fun game. Not the best of the franchise, but it was still nice to experience another RE adventure. I definitely preferred Leon's campaign because it had the best ambience, but I really enjoyed Jake and Sherry as partners and Chris' campaign was the least fun but was the most emotional. I can't say that I highly recommend the game, but if you're an RE fan you'll probably enjoy it.

I'm really excited about Halloween coming up. Next Saturday is Zombie Walk. I probably won't participate, but I love to watch it. My favourite photo of my Sam costume from Trick 'r Treat was just featured as a Daily Deviation on deviantART on Friday, October 12th. It was a tremendous honour to have that photo featured especially since I received another feature for a Heather costume pic earlier this year. That Trick ‘r Treat photoshoot was such an awesome team effort and it's really touching that other people have enjoyed the photos that we came up with last year outside of Stillvisions' house. I'm really looking forward to Halloween this year. I can't wait to get some photos of my Halloween Rei costume. I don't think Halloween this year can top the awesome time that I had last year though! X3

September 18th, 2012
Since my last update I was able to do a private shoot of my Snow White costume on September 3rd in a park with Elemental and I love how the photos turned out! I've added a whole bunch of new photos to my Snow White costume page. I think it's the costume that I have the most photos of. XD A big thank you also goes out to my friends Jen, Pan and Adrien for helping out with the shoot and providing moral support as I tried to pose. It was a beautiful day and a really nice way to end the summer! I've been hoping since I got the costume that I would be able to do a shoot in the woods and by some flowers and I was finally able to do that with Elemental’s help which is a nice feeling. :3

I've also been hard at work on my Youmacon costumes. I've ordered everything that I need for Sherry since the costume is pretty much all store bought clothing aside from the jacket and scarf which I'm getting from Ammie. I'm just waiting for my boots to arrive. I can't wait to see what the whole costume will look like when it comes together and I'm really excited about playing RE6 when it's released in a couple of weeks! I've accomplished a lot in terms of my Halloween Rei costume. I've mostly completed the shirt and the collar including the ruffles. I need to make the overskirt, a white bow and hat which could be complicated, but we'll see. I also need to make ruffles for the orange skirt and I bet that will take a while because it needs 2 layers of ruffles. (>.<);;

Stillvisions has been working on his photo backlog and added a preview gallery from Youmacon last year so I added a new photo to my Yuffie costume page. I almost forgot that I made that costume. XD Hopefully I'll have a few more photos of it soon and I'll probably have a couple of new photos of my Sam costume from the Halloween shoot that I did last year with Stillvisions coming soon too. More photos from that set would be really exciting to see. (^^) I'm looking forward to doing Halloween photos this year.

August 29th, 2012
Contrary to my last update, I did end up going to Fan Expo after all. I didn't attend the first 3 days of the con, but a friend lent me her badge for Sunday so I checked out the con on the last day. It was really great to attend because I wanted to see the Frankenweenie exhibit and I was hoping to met Chris Sarandon and see Christopher Lloyd's panel. I did all of those things although I switched to Chris Sarandon's panel, which was at the same time as Christopher Lloyd’s, because I couldn't hear Christopher Lloyd properly. (>.<);; I paid for Chris Sarandon's autograph which is something that I've never done before for a celebrity, but I'm a huge Nightmare Before Christmas fan so it felt worth it to shake his hand and chat for a minute. :3 I was very impressed by the Frankenweenie exhibit! I had no idea the puppets were so big and the sets were so detailed! I love the visual style. It's so entrancing. (^^) Another highlight of the con was seeing the Artist Alley. I bought lots of art from Halloween pieces, to Sailor Moon to Escaflowne art. I love the pumpkin patch art that I bought and cute handmade pumpkins! X3 I'm already getting excited for Halloween, but I'm always ready for Halloween!

Having said all those good things, the con was incredibly crowded for most of the day. It was pretty much impossible to stop for photos. If it was bad on a Sunday, I can only imagine how terrible it was on Friday and Saturday! I re-wore Bulma and had fun Cosplaying her again. I'm getting a lot of wear out of that costume! Too bad I didn't run into any other Dragon Ball Cosplayers! I think I’ll be retiring Bulma until maybe next summer since the cold weather will be approaching soon.

It was a total zoo trying to exit the con at the end of the day. Fan Expo really needs to stop overselling their event and offer more space for attendees. Being constantly squeezed and pushed really sucks and it's not a good environment for costumers especially given how Fan Expo and the media seem to promote costumers as part of the show.

Next up for me I'll probably be doing a photoshoot next weekend of my updated Snow White costume.

August 23rd, 2012
Joe Huang sent me pictures of my Bulma costume from a shoot that I did with him at the Toronto Cosplay Picnic and I love the photo set! The pretty scenery of the island really pops in his photos! I've added them to the costume gallery along with photos from the shoot that I did with Elemental along with Bonnie and Pan. I've decided not to go to Fan Expo this year. I was hoping to go for a day, but the con is so expensive and so few of my friends are going that it doesn't feel worthwhile. Oh well. Maybe next year! My next con will be Youmacon and I'm already looking forward to it! :3

August 19th, 2012
The Cosplay Picnic was postponed until the 12th, but we still had a great turnout and a lovely day on the Island. It did rain a bit, but the weather really improved in the afternoon and it was a great time for photoshoots. I had a lot of fun re-wearing Bulma with Pan as Videl and Bonnie as Future Trunks. We did a private shoot with Elemental and I'm really excited to see what those photos are going to be like. In the meantime, I was able to get some photos from a really nice Montreal based photographer that I did a shoot with of my Bulma costume at Otakuthon earlier this month. I posted the photos in the Bulma costume gallery along with a few shots from the Cosplay Picnic. I also did a shoot of Bulma with SolarTempest so those photos should be really nice when he gets a chance to upload them. Mike was able to post his shoot photos from Otakuthon and so I have a few new photos of my S.T.A.R.S. Rebeccca costume from the con that I added to the costume page. The shoot yielded some really solid shots! I really think they have a neat horror atmosphere to them. :3 It’s a nice sendoff for the costume now that I’m retiring it.

I'm still waiting on a few photos of Sailor Moon. I didn't really do a long shoot of the costume so I have to find a chance to wear Sailor Moon again. I'm debating wearing it if I decide to go to Fan Expo for a day, but with some family obligations and a lack of friends going to the con next weekend, I might just pass on Fan Expo for the first time ever. I should be doing a shoot of Snow White sometime in the next month. I need to work out the details, but I'm looking forward to that.

I've also just started working on my Halloween Rei costume. I'm trying to get through making the skirt and I'm making decent progress with it. I'm trying to take it slow and steady with the costume with a goal of getting it done at least a few days before Halloween. It should be a nice costume to wear for Halloween and Youma if I don't go crazy from ruffling everything. XD I've also picked another costume for Youma. I'm going to be Cosplaying Sherry from Resident Evil 6. It seems like a natural choice given that I Cosplayed Resident Evil 2 Sherry just last year and I'm so excited that she grew up and became a really kick ass character. I'm planning to Cosplay her Europe campaign outfit and I'm going to commission Ammie to make my coat. I really just need to buy a lot of outfit pieces like gloves, a turtleneck, boots and a belt. I've already purchased a wig and pants for it. It should be really comfy and a great outfit for winter cons. It seems like it's going to be a very busy fall for me! I'm already sad that summer is almost over though. :(

August 10th, 2012
Otakuthon is now in the books and I had a nice con. My costumes went over well and I liked the convention centre especially the cafe with its great veranda view. I got to see the voice actor Scott McNeil again too and I haven't seen him at a con in years. My costumes went over pretty well. I had a lot of fun wearing Bulma and my surprise Sailor Scout costume was Sailor Moon. She is my favourite Scout and I've always wanted to Cosplay her. It worked out that I was able to buy a wig from a friend and Ammie suggested I bow swap my Mercury fuku and that worked out really well despite my fuku being a little light coloured for Moon. I had a blast wearing it and my lovely friend Sakura joined me as Sailor Venus. I also wore my Rebecca costume and I did a shoot with EleventhPhotograph in the parking garage of our hotel. I hope those photos turned out well 'cause it was a neat setting for photos! :3

I had a good time at the con despite not really having much to do since a lot of the events and panels were in French only. I'm not sure if I would attend the con again, but if a few more of my friends were to go I think I would attend it again for sure. It's a really nice location!

Next up is the Toronto Cosplay Picnic. The rain date has been called so the event will be on Sunday. I'm going to be re-wearing my new Bulma costume and my friend Pan will be Videl and my other friend Bonnie will be Future Trunks so we should have a fun Dragon Ball group at the Picnic. (^_^) Fan Expo is in a few weeks and I'm undecided as to whether or not I will go. I want to see a couple of the guests, but I'm only interested in going to their Q & A sessions and the schedule has them booked at the same time on a day I wasn't planning on going. I'm not really interested in spending money on autographs, but it would be nice to have an autograph from the voice actor that played Jack in Nightmare Before Christmas. Anyway, I might attend the con for a day, but I'll decide closer to the con. Fan Expo is getting a little too expensive and doesn't really feel that worth the cost of admission.

Regarding this site, I added the Bulma costume page to the Anime/Manga costume section. I also added a page for my Sailor Moon costume to the Borrowed/Bought costumes section. I have a few photos up for each costume from EleventhPhotograph. I have a few more photos coming for Bulma from a Montreal photographer and a few of Moon from SolarTempest. I'm not sure when I'll get the photos back from SolarTempest, but I'm hoping to do a shoot of Moon with at least Pan as Mars and Sakura as Venus before the end of summer. I'm also planning to do a private shoot with Elemental of my Snow White costume before fall. That's something that I've been anxious to do for quite a while. The next few weeks should be quite busy and when I'm not doing shoots, I'm planning to start working on my Halloween Rei costume soon too!

August 1st, 2012
It's been a very busy summer. I spent a week in mid July at Disney World to attend the wedding of 2 of my friends on Disney property and for the rest of the week I visited several Disney World parks. I had a great trip and I'm already looking forward to going back again in a couple of years. :3

Since my trip I've been eagerly working on my Bulma costume once I recovered from a cold that I caught during the trip that is. XD I finished my Bulma costume on Sunday and right in the nick of time since Otakuthon is just a couple of days away. Thankfully, aside from packing and completing some last minute costume touch-ups, I'm ready to go. My plan is to wear Bulma on Friday and debut a new Sailor Scout costume on Saturday during the day. I'm really excited about my costume plans. (^^) When I feel like changing and for the evening I'm going to wear my Rebecca costume from Resident Evil. I haven't nailed down plans for Sunday. I'm hearing that we probably won't leave until mid afternoon so I'm not sure if I'll bother with a costume for the day. If I do, I'll probably bring my Harvest Moon Celia costume. Otherwise I might wear a cool Nightmare Before Christmas mini top hat that I picked up during my Disney World trip. :3

I'm very excited to see what Otakuthon is like. I've heard great things about it and I'm looking forward to experiencing it for myself. When I get back I'll be adding costume pages for Bulma and my new Sailor Scout costume. (^^)

June 27th, 2012
I'm slowly working my way through my Bulma costume. I completed the dress minus adding the "Bulma" and "97" text details. I'm currently finishing up making Bulma's cute red hair bow. After that I'm going to start working on the pouches. I'm still aiming to get the costume done by mid July so we'll see if I can achieve my goal.

Earlier this year I was asked if I would be a model for a charity calendar that Futurecon puts out each year with proceeds going to Epilepsy Toronto. I was happy to oblige and my Lisa costume was chosen as a tribute to International Nurses Day. I was able to do a studio shoot with the wonderful photographer Krissy Myers earlier this month. I had a lot of fun shooting with her and watching as she did a shoot of my friend Pan too. She recently posted the edited shots from my shoot and I've been able to post the photos online. It's nice to have some photos of me as Lisa in which I'm actually smiling. :3 It was a real honour to participate in the calendar shoot! The photos are now up in the Lisa costume gallery.

June 11th, 2012
I just wanted to make a quick update to say that I have added another convention to my con schedule for the year. My friend Rock nam Lee offered car and hotel space for Otakuthon (which is in Montreal) this year as he and his girlfriend were looking to share costs and after some careful consideration, I decided to take him up on his offer. :3 Otakuthon is a con that I've been wanting to go to for a few years now. I've heard good things about the con atmosphere and the area around the con centre looks gorgeous. I'm sure it will be a lot of fun to check out!

Regarding costume plans for the con, I'm still deciding. I do want to push up my expectations for finishing Bulma and try to debut it at Otakuthon instead of the picnic. It shouldn't be an unrealistic goal. I'm hoping to finish the dress and some of the accessories for Bulma later this month. I'll also probably bring a Sailor Moon costume because I have several fukus now. I'm not quite sure which Scout I'll Cosplay, but I have a surprise one in mind. :3 I'll probably keep up the horror theme and try to bring something survival horror as well. I'm thinking of maybe bringing back S.T.A.R.S Rebecca from Resident Evil since I haven't worn it in a while and it's pretty iconic for me. If I haven't cut my hair by August, I might even bring Zoey (Left 4 Dead). I'll probably get a haircut before then though. XD Anyway, I'm very excited to see the con and it'll be nice to experience a different con and one in a different Canadian province.

June 5th, 2012
I edited the shoot photos from IcePhoenix of my Sailor Mercury costume and I added the costume page to the "Bought/Borrowed Costumes" section. That completes all the new costume pages from the con. I'm looking forward to re-wearing Sailor Mercury to get some nice outdoor photos. I don't think the indoor shots show off the costume as well as they could. It was a lot of fun being in this group and I look forward to wearing Sailor Mercury again when Sakura can join us as Sailor Venus. I also added a few of my favourite hallway shots from various sources to the gallery.

Aside from working on some new costumes that I mentioned in my last update, I'll probably use the summer to add a new section for my Lolita outfits that I've worn and I have some nice photos of from events in previous years. It's something that I've been meaning to do for quite some time. It seems like it's going to be a very busy summer! I’m still waiting for Hellsing and Splicer photos from SolarTempest from AN so there will be more AN photo additions to the site in the future. :3

June 4th, 2012
I can't believe it's June already! 2012 feels like it's racing by! I'm still getting caught up with adding photos and costume pages now that AN is over. I just added a few of my favourite hallway photos from various sources to my Ashley and Integral costume pages. Pan was able to snap a bunch of photos really quickly for me of my Halloween dress in the Doubletree on Friday night of the con. I added a few of my favourite photos and created a costume page for the outfit which you can view in the "Other Media Costumes" section. The photos are simple hallway shots, but I really appreciate her taking the time to get some shots of my Halloween summer dress! I'll probably wear it again in the next couple of months to get some nice outdoor photos of it. I still need to add my Sailor Mercury costume page to the site, but I'll do that later this week.

I also updated the "In Progress Costumes" section as AN inspired me to get started on my next Cosplay projects. I really want to work on the Halloween Lolita Rei from Evangelion costume that I've been dying to make since last Youmacon when I bought the figure. I purchased fabric for the outfit last week so I'm planning to start it either this month or next month and my goal is to finish it for Youmacon this fall. It should be fun although it's a complicated design! I've also decided to pick up another project for the summer. I want to finally make a Dragon Ball costume. I loved the series growing up and Bulma was one of my favourite characters as a kid so I'm going to make her pink dress from Dragon Ball. My goal is to finish it for the Cosplay Picnic since the design is fairly simple and it looks like a great summer costume. I hope it comes together fairly quickly!

Lastly, my awesome friend Ammie surprised me at AN by making me a lovely Super Sailor Chibi Moon costume to match her Super Sailor Moon costume that she debuted at AN this year. It was birthday/Christmas present and it was a very nice gift! I still need to get a wig for it and some accessories, but I'll hopefully be able to wear it either this year or next year. I'm looking forward to being the Chibi Moon to Ammie's Moon again sometime soon and I just adore Chibi Moon's Super design!

May 30th, 2012
Elemental had a lightning fast turnaround time for her Anime North photos so I posted the costume page complete with some wonderful atmospheric photos of my new Splicer costume in the Video Games Cosplay section. My makeup was rushed, but the costume still has quite a creepy feeling to it. I received some feedback on the costume at the con and I just finished adding more stains and rips to the costume and I adjusted the mask for a better fit. I'm looking forward to an opportunity to wear my Splicer costume again! It was a lot of fun Cosplaying a creepy enemy character. We had a second shoot with Solartempest so I will have a few more photos to post of the costume at a later date.

May 29th, 2012
Anime North has come and gone for another year and I'm a little sad that it's over. This turned out to be a really great AN for me and I'm glad that I decided to take it easy and focus more on Cosplay rather than attending events. The groups that I was a part of went over very well. I had a blast being part of a Sailor Moon group on Friday. Pan was my main partner for that as we Cosplayed Mercury and Mars. Ammie looked amazing as Jupiter, Rankin24 joined us as an adorable Sailor Moon and Jukebox looked lovely as Human Luna. Sadly, Sakura could not join us as Venus so we were short for having a full Inners group. :( I look forward to when we wear these costumes again and get the full group together!

I did re-wear my Halloween dress for a bit on Friday night. I didn't do a photoshoot, but I did get a few photos care of Pan, so I will post a couple of shots and the costume page soon. I'm not as happy with the wig that I decided to wear with the dress so I'll have to wear it again and get more photos later on in the summer or early fall.

I was really impressed by the turnout at the Resident Evil shoot on Saturday. A fair number of Cosplayers from the various games showed up. I was the only Ashley there, along with The Letter Jay as Leon and another lovely Cosplayer as Ada, so the three of us represented RE4. I ended up coordinating the shoot even though I wasn't the organizer and it was a lot of fun! Thanks to the Cosplayers that showed up! I think at this point aside from if I'm able to do a group shoot at a location, I'll probably retire my Ashley costume since I've worn it ten times already. The costume has had a great run at cons and I'm happy that I got to wear it so many times. :3

That brings me to my last two costumes of the weekend. I think my favourite Cosplay experience of the con, which was kind of the cherry on top of the cake, was The Hellsing group on Saturday night. It was so much fun! I am so happy with my Integra costume now. It is just a closet costume, but it feels very empowering and Hellsing is a series that I've liked for a long time so the group meant a lot. We received quite a few compliments on the group and I was told that I might have been the only Integra Cosplayer at the con so I'm glad that I was able to bring this costume back and do a better job representing the character!

Sunday was the big Splicer group from BioShock. The group wasn't quite as big as originally planned, but we still had a fair turnout (I think it was 9 people strong if I remember correctly). I had to rush the fake blood application a bit and I probably need to add more stains and rips to my dress, but I'm really happy with my costume. My cat mask turned out really well even despite it falling down and some of the designs breaking on Sunday morning. My friend Adrien was able to help me fix it and we got some great shoots in. We were even able to shoot in a warehouse area of the TCC where we normally wouldn't be allowed.

So despite a few costume mishaps, witnessing an overheated car set on fire (which thankfully was taken care of rather quickly) and getting a sunburn, AN 2012 was a fantastic con and was one of the best AN's yet. It was nice to have a fairly stress free con and hopefully next year will be more of the same. :3 I should get some gallery photos from the con in the next little while and I'll add some new costume pages soon as well.

AN is just a day away now and aside from a bit of packing, I'm pretty much ready to go. Time really flew by this May and I didn't even spend it working on a complicated costume. Tonight I'm going to be going to the Thursday night pre-reg pick-up. Hopefully it won't take that long to pick up badges and maybe I'll get a chance to check my weapons. Everything gets underway in earnest tomorrow afternoon. Tomorrow I'm going to be Cosplaying Sailor Mercury with the option of changing into my Halloween dress for fun in the evening. The Sailor Moon group I'll be in should be a lot of fun. It seems like we have a full group aside from Pluto and Saturn if we're all able to gather together for a photoshoot.

The weather forecast is calling for very warm temperatures for the weekend so hopefully I won't roast in my costumes! On Saturday I'm wearing Ashley for the Resident Evil shoot although I do have other newer RE costumes that I could wear, Ashley is my favourite. I think a couple of my friends will be dressed as Leon so it should be great for photos. I'll have to re-wear my Nurse Rebecca costume eventually this year though! On Saturday evening I'll be changing into my Integra costume which looks great now so I'm very excited about it. :3

My last costume for the weekend is my Splicer costume for the big BioShock group on Sunday. I believe we have around a dozen people in the group so it should make for a fun sight on Sunday. Sunday also seems to be the day when it'll probably rain and dark skies at least fit a horror theme. Hopefully it won't rain at the con though! I wouldn't mind if the temperatures dropped a bit though! It's going to feel like summer all weekend. AN should be a lot of fun this year! I'm glad the lead up to the con wasn't very stressful and I look forward to a awesome con this year. If you see me do say hi and if you're going as well, I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Post-con I'll be sure to update here with my thoughts on the weekend and in the coming weeks and month I'll be adding new costume pages and gallery photos from AN.

May 9th, 2012
Anime North is just a couple of weeks away and my costumes are pretty much ready to go now. I picked up my Sailor Mercury costume from Ammie and I love it! I'm just waiting on the arrival of the wig (which Pan and I will style a bit before con) and I'm good to go. I found a better suit jacket to use for my Integral costume so I added my old buttons to my new jacket and from Ammie I have a new necktie for the costume. I tried on the outfit with my new wig and I love how the costume looks! I can't wait until the Hellsing group on Saturday evening of the con! I'll be with my friends who are Cosplaying Seras, Pip, Alexander and Alucard.

I've learned that there will be a Resident Evil photoshoot on Saturday afternoon and I've decided to bring an RE costume for the shoot. I'm still not sure which costume yet. I'm deciding between Sherry, Ashley and Nurse Rebecca although I'm leaning towards Ashley since a couple of my friends will be Cosplaying Leon. I'll keep thinking about it.

As for my Splicer costume, I did pretty much finish it. I "destroyed" my new dress with paint, dirt, tea and coffee staining and by creating rips. I did a bit of a makeup test so I'll be adding some dirt, bruises and cuts to my skin at the con. I'm looking forward to the group on Sunday!

That pretty much covers everything. Aside from packing, I could be ready for the con now if it were this week which is a nice feeling. I'll post again before the con with my finalized costume list. I'm really looking forward to the con this year! It's a lot more fun when you're not stressed out with last minute sewing! XD This is a huge improvement over last year.

April 18th, 2012
Just a quick update. I added a couple of photos from Wizard World last year of me as Rebecca with The Letter Jay as Chris and Ammie as Jill. The pic with me and The Letter Jay is a rather humorous one. I wish I had more photos of the little S.T.A.R.S.group I was a part of last year. Hopefully we'll be able to Cosplay the group again at some point at a future con!

April 15th, 2012
It's been a while since my last update. I received a tremendous honour last month on deviantART as a photo that I love of my Heather costume was picked to be a Daily Deviation on March 31st. I'm quite touched by the honour and I think Elemental deserves most of the credit for taking such a cool photo! I really appreciate all the support that I’ve received though!

I did want to go to Wizard World this weekend, but I thought the admission price was a little too expensive for what I get out of the con so I decided to skip it for the year. Instead I worked on my Splicer mask yesterday. My friend Adrien's roommate had a basic plastic cat mask that she had used for a Splicer costume last year that she no longer wanted and gave to me. With some serious alteration including creating chips and cracks, painting it, adding details with clay machine and gold leaf over the course of 2 visits to his place, I was able to make a black and gold cat mask like in artwork for the game. It turned out really well and I look forward to wearing it. My replacement Splicer dress (since my original white and black dress was a little too nice to destroy) arrived in the mail last week. It doesn't fit me perfectly so I need to alter it and destroy it, but I'm looking forward to working on it. I should be able to get my Splicer costume done soon.

Regarding my Sailor Mercury costume, I'm still waiting for my wig to ship. I really hope it arrives in time for the con. (~_~);; I also need to buy white gloves for the costume before con. I might be picking up costumes for my group from Amber at the end of the month and I look forward to seeing how my friends look as Venus and Mars. :3

March 19th, 2012
While I was at Con-G last month my friend Rock nam Lee did a quick video interview with me when I was wearing my Shinku costume that he included as part of a con documentary that he just released. It was a neat experience doing an interview. I usually shy away from the video camera, but Rock nam Lee is really fun to work with. You can view the video here.

March 17th, 2012
I've decided that I am going to work on a costume for Anime North after all. A bunch of my friends decided to do a big Splicers group from BioShock for AN and being a big BioShock fan, I just have to join in on the madness. I went out shopping just a couple of evenings ago and was able to find a nice dress (probably too nice) and some shoes to destroy for the project. We're not aiming for character based Splicers, but just thrift store outfits that are period appropriate although my dress has a Baby Jane style to it. It’s long, but I'm not sure if I really want to hack it to Baby Jane length. The big costume element is the mask and I'll probably start working on that later this month or early next month. I'm thinking of maybe making a cat mask, but we'll see how things turn out.

March 6th, 2012
Con-G has been and gone and the con was pretty fun. The hotel was quite crowded and I had the misfortune of getting a hotel room just above the main lobby. At 8AM every day of the con it was a little hard to block out the hustle and bustle that was going on just below, but the weekend was great for seeing friends. Re-wearing Shinku went pretty well except that the costume is ripping at some seams around the bodice I guess because of the pressure when I move as the dress is pretty tight. I keep repairing the holes and they keep coming back and the fabric is tearing so I don't know how many more times I can re-wear Shinku, but I do cherish every chance that I get to wear the costume. My new wig with clips was a lot easier to manage. I'm not so happy with how the base wig is a bob, but it's better than the hassle of my styled wig.

I did a quick shoot of my Shinku costume at sunset with Rock nam Lee and the few shots that we were able to get in the freezing cold outside turned out really nicely. The photos are now up in my Shinku costume gallery. I like the artistic shots with the rose. You can't see much of my costume in the artistic shots, but they do look very dramatic and pretty. :3

I did wear my Halloween dress on Saturday night and on Sunday, but I wasn't able to do a photoshoot of it so sadly I have no costume photos and I can't post the costume page. I do have the write-up ready so whenever I get a chance to re-wear the dress for photos I'll be sure to post it here. It was really fun to wear and very comfy so I can't wait to wear it again. My friends told me that I looked kind of like Ms. Frizzle from the Magic School Bus because of the busyness of the pattern and I can't help but agree, but that's not a bad thing. :D

I just ordered a wig for my upcoming Sailor Mercury costume for AN that I look forward to getting. Costume wise that's about the only thing I'm working on and I'm not really doing much for Mercury since Ammie is making my fuku. There is talk of maybe doing a Splicer group from BioShock at AN as well since my friend Chris surprised everybody by wearing a pretty awesome Splicer costume at Con-G. I've always wanted to Cosplay from BioShock so that would be fun. I’ll see if I can find a thrift store dress to work with and if I can figure out how to make a mask.

Next con for me should be Wizard World although I'm debating if I should go now because it's kind of expensive and I don't really care to see the celebrities so I don't think I could get my money's worth. MTAC is pretty much out too. My next con might be AN in May. I'll have to play it by ear.

February 19th, 2012
I haven't really had much to post about here. I'm still waiting for some photos to emerge from various convention shoots last year. I haven't participated in a costume photoshoot in quite a while. I wanted to do a shoot of my Shattered Memories Lisa costume this winter, but it's been very hard to predict the weather and it's been a very mild winter. I still might try to do that at some point in the next few weeks before winter comes to an end.

Although it has been a down period for cons for the last few months, next weekend is the first con of the year for me. I'm pretty excited about Con-G, it's a small event, but it's a great chance to hang out with friends and catch-up. I'm still thinking a little bit about bringing more than 2 costumes, but my current plans are to re-wear my Shinku costume from Rozen Maiden on Saturday of the con and I'll also be bringing my new Halloween dress that I finished last month. I'm thinking of maybe bringing my Zoey costume too as my hair is currently long enough for the character and it's a pretty easy to wear outfit. It's mostly deciding when to wear things. I might wear my Halloween dress on Saturday night or during the day on Sunday, but Zoey would be convenient to wear before leaving the con Sunday. I'll just play it by ear and see if the costumes all fit in my suitcase. I need to bring quite a few pairs of shoes. XD

I have to adjust my costume plans a bit this year. I was hoping to go to Otakuthon and I was considering maybe going to Colossalcon, but I'm now going to a friend's wedding during the summer which happens to be a destination wedding at Disney World. The cost of that trip will probably mean I can't consider attending some new conventions this year though. I'm ok with that and I'll probably look into them again for the 2013 convention season.

I'm still taking a bit of a sewing break right now due to a lack of motivation. Nothing is really jumping at me to want to make and I don't have that many cons to attend to make a lot of costumes. Hopefully I'll pick out something simple to make in the next few months before I start working on my Halloween Rei costume in the summer. In the meantime, I've been feeling nostalgic and have been collecting classic toys and goods from Sailor Moon and reminiscing about my childhood. At least it's getting me excited about the Inners Sailor Moon group that I'll be a part of at Anime North. :3

February 1st, 2012
2012 is already well underway and I’m thinking this is going to be a great Cosplay year. I made a lot of progress and finished my Halloween print summer dress. I finished it on January 15th and I only worked on it a couple of hours a day on a few evenings so I'm pretty happy with how quickly I made it and I'm really happy with how it turned out. I'm looking forward to wearing it at Con-G later this month.

In other costume news, I just received my new Shinku wig in the mail last week. The eBay seller actually sent me the wrong wig (as their eBay store had two different Shinku wigs for sale). The wig isn't quite as nice as I had hoped as I was hoping to get a wig with very curly pigtails, but the fact that the wig has wig clips instead of being pigtails with extensions means that it'll be a lot easier to manage. Not that long wig clips don't tangle like crazy too, but at least I don't have to worry about destroying the style of the wig. I recently joined a group order and bought some contacts for Shinku and another pair for my future Halloween Rei costume. I've never tried cosmetic lenses and I'm not sure if my eyes will like them, but I'm looking forward to trying them on. I also purchased a wig for my Rei costume. I'm really preparing for that costume despite the fact that I'm not going to be working on it until the summer. XD

December 31st, 2011
Happy New Year! My friend Stillvisions completed his photo backlog from 2010 and posted photos of my Eternal Sailor Saturn and Sam costumes from Youmacon. You can see the first version of my Sam costume in all its odd head shaped glory. XD At least you can see how I've improved the costume and I had a lot of fun at Youma that year with Ammie as Alice from American McGee's Alice. I was part of an Outer Scout group for the Sailor Moon shoot that I did with Stillvisions so I have a few shots of us from the lit hallway that turned out really nicely as well.

Just today I started sewing my Halloween summer dress so I'm hoping to finish that really soon. :3 It’s a nice way to start off the new year.

December 28th, 2011
Happy Holidays everyone! I don't have any new costumes or photos to post, but I just wanted to wish everyone a belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! One of the gifts that I got for Christmas was a new makeup kit, which should help with costume ideas for 2012. Just today I started working on a Halloween print summer dress just for fun. If I finish it and it turns out nicely I'll probably bring it to Con-G in February. I recently pre-registered for the con and I'm looking forward to attending it for a second year. It should be a fun event to attend to break up the long winter ahead.

November 26th, 2011
Rock nam Lee has posted his awesome videos from Youmacon of the various con shenanigans. He took some video footage of Ammie and me in our Rozen Maiden costumes for a funvid and he also did a second video of some awesome Resident Evil Umbrella mercenaries and incorporated Ammie, The Letter Jay and me as Jill, Chris and Rebecca. It turned into quite a brawl and was a lot of fun to shoot. :3 Links to both videos can be found in the "Around the Web" page in the Sitey section. Thanks to Rock nam Lee for the lovely videos! They're such a fun way to remember the con.

November 20th, 2011
SolarTempest posted his awesome Youmacon costume galleries and I now have some lovely shots of Ammie and me as Suigintou and Shinku from Rozen Maiden. I added the costume shots to my Shinku costume page. SolarTempest also took some really nice photos of me as Nurse Rebecca on Friday night of Youmacon that I just love. The photos are up in that costume’s gallery. I just love my new Rebecca costume. It's so much fun Cosplaying Rebecca. I look forward to wearing that costume again. :3

November 11th, 2011
I noticed Baron Karza has started adding his photo galleries from Youmacon to Cosplay.com and a couple of nice group shots of the Final Fantasy VII group that I was a part of are up. I had already finished the write-up for the costume so I added the costume page to the Video Games costume section. I also added a lovely photo of Ammie and me as Sugintou and Shinku from the con to my Shinku costume page. I'll be adding more photos to my various costume pages as I find the photos online.

November 10th, 2011
Youmacon has now past for another year. I enjoyed the con, but I'm not really a fan of the con hotel. I find it really confusing and not that interesting. Two years in and I still have trouble remembering my way around. Next year it'll be great to have more space over at Cobo Center, but I'm not looking forward to the trek between locations. It's sure to make it even trickier to find people especially since cell phone rates so close to the border with signal switching makes it rather expensive to use cell phones. I can say that I loved the costumes that I wore at the con this year. It was great to re-wear Shinku for a little bit. I could only wear it for a few hours on Saturday as the shoes were rather painful and I suffered a couple costume malfunctions with snaps coming loose, but I was able to get a great shoot with Ammie as Suigintou out by the water with SolarTempest. The FFVII group that I was a part of on Friday went really well. We were able to shoot with Baron Karza and I could finally tell him in person how much I enjoy looking at his con photos. (^^)

I did debut my "surprise" costume, which was Nurse Rebecca from the new Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D game. It was her alternate unlockable Lolita dress design. I kept it a secret, as I didn't make it. I commissioned Amber to make it for me and I just love how it turned out. I already have a few photos from Rock nam Lee so I added a costume page to the Bought/Borrowed Costumes section. I wasn't really feeling up to making it myself with all the details. Amber telling me that she finished it in just 2 days and just loved putting it together really made the commission totally worth it. (^_^) I'm so happy the white boots that I ordered for the costume actually showed up in time for con. They only arrived a day before I left for con despite ordering the boots in late September. XD I'm going to be wearing this costume quite a bit because of how much fun it is to wear. I'm still waiting for photos of Shinku and Yuffie but when they appear online I'll be sure to add them right away. :3

Now it's time for a sewing hiatus. I'm not sure what costume I'll work on next and when I'll start it. I have plans to mostly re-wear costumes to Con-G if I'm able to go and to Anime North. I do already have my eye on a cute Rei from Evangelion Halloween figure design that I would love to make next year. We'll see when I feel inspired to start working on a costume again.

November 2nd, 2011
Halloween is over, but the holiday this year was one of the best ever! The photoshoot that I did of my Sam costume on Sunday turned out so well thanks to my awesome friends. We spent 7 hours and carved 32 pumpkins for an epic shoot. Stillvisions was able to post a few preview shoots and the photos that I've posted to deviantART, ACP and Cosplay.com have been getting a lot of attention and I'm really happy that the efforts of everyone has lead to such a great result. We all had so much fun with this and I'm glad we could all enjoy the holiday together. I know I enjoyed scaring teenagers and children on Stillvisions front lawn in this costume. XD No one knew exactly what I was, but I did creep a lot of people out. :3

Youmacon is almost here and I've pretty much decided on my costume plans. On Friday I'll be debuting my new Yuffie from Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII costume for a FFVII group and Friday night I'll probably change into my surprise survival horror costume. I commissioned Ammie to make me a new costume which I'm excited about. The only thing I'm sad about is that the boots that I ordered for it sadly never arrived. :( Saturday in the daytime I'll be re-wearing my Shinku costume from Rozen Maiden with Ammie as Sugintou and in the evening I'll again be sporting my surprise costume. My plan for Sunday is to just wear a Lolita outfit. I'm really excited for the con. If you see me around con come and say hi. :3 I'm shy but friendly! XD If you're going to Youma I hope you have a wonderful con! (^^)

October 30th, 2011
Halloween is almost upon us. In the last few days I've been doing a lot of work on my costumes. I completed Yuffie on Thursday so I'm ready to go with my Youmacon costumes. I'll post my costume schedule just before the con in a few days. I just finished fixing up my Sam costume and in the nick of time, as I'll be attending a party later today in which a group of us will be carving a whole ton of pumpkins. Our goal of created a field of jack-o-lanterns for a fun Halloween Trick 'r Treat shoot. I've been looking forward to this shoot all year. I just love Halloween! It's nice to be done all my costumes for the year. I'll be taking a break from sewing costumes until probably late winter when I start getting ready for Anime North. It's been a great year con wise, but I am looking forward to relaxing in the winter to get back into the swing of things next year. :3 Anyway, tomorrow is a day for spooky fun and celebration. Happy Halloween! (^_^)

October 18th, 2011
Stillvisions posted his photos from the 2010 Toronto Zombie Walk and there are a few photos of me sporting my Rebecca costume with Christine and Jenn from Dangerousladies as Claire and Jill. The photos seem a little candid and the shoot was a lot of fun. I love the Zombie Walk. It's quite a sight to take in and I'm looking forward to the Walk this year. If my hair was longer I would probably re-wear Zoey, but it's a little cold and I'm a little tired from working on my Yuffie costume so I'm just going to watch the parade this year and not dress up. One of these years I’ll probably go all out and dress as a zombie but not this year. XD I'm glad there are still a couple of weeks until Halloween and Youmacon! So much to do, so little time!

October 14th, 2011
Icephoenix sent me all of his shoot photos from Fan Expo of the Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles group I was in. I've added them to the Sherry costume page. That was such a great series of shoots! He also took a few silly Resident Evil 4 photos of me as Ashley with DragoonLance as Leon in which Ashley had some firepower. XD I added those shots to the Ashley gallery. SolarTempest just posted his shots from Anime North and he did a brief shoot with me as Shinku so I have several lovely shots of my Shinku costume now. Unfortunately the sun was a little bright at the time so I was squinting in all the shots, but they still show off the costume nicely. :3 I'm super excited about re-wearing Shinku at Youmacon with Ammie as Suigintou in just a few more weeks!

October 12th, 2011
I'm on a photo posting spree! The final set of photos of me as Eternal Sailor Chibi Moon from Amber's Inner Scout group at Fan Expo last year is now up in the costume gallery. I will soon have several more photos to post of my Sherry costume from Icephoenix's Fan Expo shoots.

October 11th, 2011
Icephoenix has finished working on his Fan Expo photos of the Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles group that I was a part of so I added a bunch of new solo and group shots to my Sherry costume gallery. I'm so happy with how that group turned out and I'm itching to re-wear my Sherry costume. :3

October 10th, 2011
It's now October and such a lovely month. There are so many fun Halloween related activities to do around the city. I'm currently working on a Yuffie costume for a Final Fantasy VII Cosplay group that I'm going to be a part of at Youmacon with several of my friends including Ammie as Aeris and Jukebox as Tifa. They convinced me to join the group and it's going to be a lot of fun. I'm not really a big Final Fantasy fan and not really all that familiar with FFVII so I'm making young Yuffie's simple outfit from Crisis Core. I'm in the middle of making the shirt and I'm hoping to finish the costume in a couple of weeks. I’m trying to keep my plans as simple as possible right now with how busy this month is.

Stillvisions is working on his photo backlog right now and he posted the individual Cosplay shots from the Sailor Moon group that I was part of at Fan Expo last year when I borrowed Amber's Eternal Sailor Chibi Moon costume. I've added the new shots to my costume gallery. Hopefully soon I'll have the shots of my Saturn costume and Sam from Youma last year and I should have shots of my Sherry costume shortly from the awesome RE Darkside Chronicles group from Fan Expo this year. :3

September 23rd, 2011
I'm still waiting to get a lot of photos back from shoots that took place at Fan Expo last month. I have been gathering what photos I can find and I have a few photos from various sources of the Eternal Sailor Scouts group shenanigans including photo evidence of the awesome train ride around the Roundhouse Park in which we created a rainbow train! :D The photos are up in the Eternal Sailor Saturn costume page. I will add more costume photos to my Sherry, Eternal Sailor Saturn and Snow White costume pages as the photos come online.

Youmacon is fast approaching in just over a month. I am considering making a new costume for the event and it's a fairly simple costume as long as I can get pattern help from Pan and don't run into problems finding shoes and getting fabric. Once I get some supplies, I'll post about my plans here. I'm currently working on fixing my mask for Sam. I'm using paper mache around a beach ball base this time and the base has been finished and painted. At this point I'm waiting to get a chance to buy burlap to re-do the mask in full. Hopefully it will work out better this time! I'm going to be doing a Jack-o'-lantern pumpkin patch themed photoshoot of the costume just before Halloween and I'm really excited about it. I'm a huge Halloween fan so I've been pumped about this shoot all year. XD

August 31st, 2011
I finished uploading the shots from the CONVOKE photo booth to my Ashley costume gallery. I had so much fun re-wearing Ashley. I really want to wear Ashley again. XD I so hope I can organize a full Resident Evil 4 group one day! I'm still waiting on shoot photos from my other Cosplay groups from the con and I'm really looking forward to posting more shots of my Fan Expo costumes. (^^)

August 29th, 2011
Fan Expo is over for yet another year. Aside from Sunday, I actually really enjoyed the convention. Getting tickets was fairly efficient this year and the con was organized in such a way that crowds were managed fairly well although it made travelling throughout the con to be a very tedious and annoying process. I found adding the extra day to be rather taxing physically and Sunday of the con was a little too much for me. I loved the Cosplay groups that I was a part of. I had a blast being in the full Eternal Sailor Senshi group. We did a fun photoshoot at Roundhouse Park and all ten Senshi got to ride the miniature train for free all around the park. It was such much fun! The Disney Princess group was also a lovely experience and we did a shoot at the park as well and rode the train for free then too. XD I think my favourite experiences were all Resident Evil related as Amber, Jordan and I did some great shoots on Thursday and Friday night in our Darkside Chronicles costumes. I also really enjoyed re-wearing Ashley yet again for a few hours on Saturday night with Jordan in his RPD Leon costume. We did a shoot at the Convoke booth that was so much fun that we bought the shots and I'll be posting my favourites here soon. I changed my costume plans for Sunday last minute as I decided to re-wear my Heather costume because I was in the mood to wear another survival horror costume. I wasn't at the con for that long on Sunday because I wasn’t feeling well, but re-wearing Heather makes me want to wear it again. I'll have to keep it handy perhaps for a con in 2012 or 2013. :3 Overall Fan Expo was an improvement this year. There were only a few times like Sunday when I noticed the crowding was a bit intrusive. I found the addition of an extra day to be a bit unnecessary. If I do go again in 2012 I probably won't attend for all 4 days. I didn't participate in any con events so I could see myself maybe just buying a one-day pass. Still, I had some great costuming experiences with some awesome friends that made the weekend very memorable. :3

Since I started working on the write-up a couple of weeks ago, I completed work on the costume page for my Sherry costume that I debuted at Fan Expo. I added the page to the Video Games section. I have a photo up for it from a magazine and I'm looking forward to seeing the shoot photos from IcePhoenix and Scott and adding those to the costume gallery later.

August 22nd, 2011
Fan Expo is fast approaching in just a few more days. I'm working out my final plans for the con, but I'm glad that I finished my new costume for the con already. I'm happy that I can take it easy in these last few days. My current plan for the con is to wear my Sherry costume on Thursday, Snow White on Friday, Eternal Sailor Saturn on Saturday during the day and re-wear my Ashley costume in the evening and on Sunday I'll probably re-wear my Star Trek Commander dress. My Ashley and Star Trek costumes are still a little tentative, but it all depends on what the weather is like and what I feel like wearing for those days. I'm looking forward to my group plans for the convention. Disney Princesses, Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles and the Eternals group are sure to a lot of fun. If you're going, I hope you have a wonderful convention and maybe I'll see some of you there. :3

August 12th, 2011
I added a new page to the Sitey section entitled "Around the Web" in which I've posted links to various tutorials, interviews and Cosplay videos that I've been involved in over the last couple of years. Right now I'm going through a bit of a down period Cosplay wise as I've already completed my costumes for Fan Expo. In September I'll start experimenting with fixing my Sam costume, but until then I'm on a costume making hiatus. I am getting pretty pumped about my costume plans for Fan Expo, though, and there are just a couple more weeks to go until con! I'll update again closer to con when I have my costume plans fully worked out.

July 18th, 2011
Checking out Polaris on Saturday was a lot of fun. It's a pretty relaxing convention and I enjoyed seeing the sights such as the Fanboys Confessionals screening and the art show. Although I've had reservations about it in the past, I re-wore my Jill costume and I was pretty happy with how the costume looked. I wasn't able to do a photoshoot, though, so I won't have any new photos to post later, but because I enjoyed wearing the costume, this year or next year I'll try to do another photoshoot of the costume as I currently only have a handful of photos of it. Over the next couple of weeks I'm going to repair a few costumes in preparation for conventions for the rest of the year. In the fall I’ll start to make decisions about costume plans for next year.

July 15th, 2011
Polaris is this weekend and as I've done for the last three years, I'm planning to check the con out for a day using a costumer's pass. I'm still not 100% sure what costume I'll re-wear to get a costumer's pass, but I'm currently leaning towards re-wearing my Jill Valentine (Resident Evil 3: Nemesis) costume as it's summer appropriate and the boots are pretty comfy. It's not exactly the most comfy costume overall, though, so I may change my mind. Anyway, I am looking forward to seeing the con on this its 25th year in operation.

In other news, on July 1st I started working on my Sherry costume and yesterday I finished it. I mostly wanted to see if I could pick up a fairly simple costume and see how quickly I could get it done given that I don't plan to debut it until Fan Expo at the end of next month. It's nice to have it pretty much done though and that means I won’t have to fuss with working on it last minute (a novel thing for me). XD It just needs a few finishing touches. I'm waiting for my wig to arrive in the mail and I need to buy a pair of white socks. I simplified the design a little bit as I made her Darkside Chronicles outfit. I modified a pajama pattern for the costume so the shorts are very simple and the shirt is a little long, but given that I probably won't wear this costume very much, I put quite a bit of effort into it. I'm really looking forward to the Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles group that I'm going to be a part of at FE! Since Sherry was a fairly painless costume to make maybe I'll look for other fairly simple costume projects to work on before the end of the year. At the moment I don't have plans to make any other new costumes this year but that may change. :3

June 27th, 2011
The Cosplay Picnic was a lot of fun. I re-wore my Batgirl costume and just had a really relaxing time on the island. The weather was a little chilly and bleak, but the picnic was not a washout and didn't put a damper on the amazing day. I did a short photoshoot with Rock nam Lee along with Pan who was dressed as Supegirl and Pan's friend who was dressed as Robin and we got some fun action shots as well as a few general picnic shots. These photos are up in the Batgirl costume gallery. It's really the little things that made Saturday so awesome. I look forward to the picnic next year! My friend Ashley picked up a Simplicity pattern for me and gave it to me at the picnic so I'm preparing the pattern so I can start working on my Sherry costume over the next few days. I'm looking forward to working on the costume and hopefully making it fairly quickly.

June 23rd, 2011
On June 4th I participated in a Harry Potter music video shoot planned by Mottaboy66 and Mai Sheri for an upcoming YouTube fan video. I re-wore my Harry Potter costume and had a lot of fun. Rock nam Lee took some photos at the event so I've added a few new photos to my Harry Potter costume page. I've also moved my Sherry costume for my Future Possibilities list to the In Progress section. I'm going to be participating in a Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles group with DragoonLance as Leon and Ammie as Claire for Fan Expo. We decided that the Darkside looks were a little more our style and I kind of like Sherry's design as it's slightly more mature looking.

This weekend is the Toronto Centre Island Cosplay Picnic. I will be attending the event and re-wearing my Batgirl costume with Pan-Chan as Supergirl. It should be a fun and relaxing event. I always look forward to going to the island in costume although nothing can top last year's experience when I wore Snow White with Ammie as Ariel. That was quite a magical year. :3

June 6th, 2011
I created a costume page for my Saki from Onechanbara: Bikini Zombie Slayers costume and have added it to the Video Games Costume section. I'm really quite happy with how the costume turned out and I'm looking forward to re-wearing it to the Toronto Cosplay Picnic in a couple of weeks as Ammie and Jukebox will be wearing their Onechanbara costumes there too so we can do a group shoot. :3 It should be a fun day. I also added a shot to my Celia from Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life costume page from when I wore the costume on Sunday of AN.

June 2nd, 2011
I found some time to resize and add 21 new photos to my Zoey from Left 4 Dead costume page. I think that L4D shoot care of Stillvisions was one of the best and most memorable shoots that I've ever done. All the photos turned out so wonderfully and the location was just a blast to shoot at. It's pretty cool to have so many great photos of the costume! I also was able to add a costume page for my new Shinku from Rozen Maiden costume. It's my first new Anime costume (that was made by me) in a year. I kind of missed Cosplaying from Anime a little bit. Granted, I've worn a series of lovely Sailor Senshi costumes in 2010 thanks to Ammie so I haven't kept away from Anime Cosplay for that long! I wish I had more photos to post of Shinku and some fitting photos for the series, but I'll have to wait for a chance to re-wear this costume. In the coming month I have plans to fix up my Rebecca, Shinku and Saki costumes. I should be starting work on my final planned costume for the year, Sherry from Resident Evil 2 for a RE2 group with Dragoonlance and Ammie at Fan Expo, at the end of June or in early July. It's not as challenging of a costume as Shinku, but I could still run into some snags. Hopefully I'm giving myself enough time to work on it! I still need to add a costume page for my new Saki costume, collect Celia photos from AN and add a new section to the site, but more updates should be coming in the next week or so. :3

June 1st, 2011
Anime North has come and gone for another year and I actually had a great time despite participating in very few con activities. I ended up missing the Survival Horror panel due to a time crunch with where I was right before the panel was about to start, but I was able to make it to the RE panel and I think it went really well. My Shinku costume, although it took a lot out of me making it, was a big success. I got a lot of compliments on how it turned out and I was really proud of the work that I did. Of course, my mother deserves a lot of praise for helping me with sewing the dress. Some of the seams were a nightmare to sew with how delicate the fabric was! I enjoyed wearing my Saki and Celia costumes despite being very obscure as Saki. I love how the skirt turned out for my Saki costume. That was another challenging piece to make, but the end result was worth it! I didn't really do any photoshoots at the con aside from a small shoot with SolarTempest on Saturday of my Shinku costume so I'll have to wait to get proper photos of most of my costumes. I do have a few con hallway shoots of my costumes that I'll post soon. Next up I'll get around to adding the Zoey pictures from Stillvisions’ shoot and I’ll make a costume page for Shinku. After that I'll work on a costume page for Saki and I’ll add the interview section that I've been meaning to do for a while.

May 26th, 2011
Anime North is just a day away and I'm currently finishing up work on my Shinku costume. I ran into a lot of trouble getting the costume done. It was one of the most challenging costumes that I've ever made mostly because the fabric was a pain to deal with and the pre-styled wig that I bought started to lose it's shape and has become a huge nightmare to deal with. After Anime North I'm definitely going to be looking into buying a new wig for Shinku. Having said that, aside from the wig, I’m really proud of how the costume turned out. It’s one of the nicest costumes that I’ve ever worked on. (^^) Regarding Anime North, my costume plans are wearing Saki from Onechanbara on Friday. Hopefully Ammie and Jukebox will be able to wear their Aya and Anna costumes for a group shoot Friday evening. I'll also be a panelist on the Resident Evil and Survival Horror Video Games panels tomorrow. On Saturday I'll be debuting my Shinku from Rozen Maiden costume and I plan to re-wear my Celia costume from Harvest Moon: A Wonderful on Sunday as I quite like the costume and I've only ever worn it once and that was a few years ago. Hopefully on Saturday night Ammie will get a chance to wear her Suigintou costume so we can be a Rozen Maiden Cosplay duo. :3 It's going to be quite a busy con for me, but hopefully AN 2011 will be exciting and fun! If you're going, I hope you have a wonderful time!

May 16th, 2011
Anime North is fast approaching and I still have a lot of work to do on my Shinku costume. There is a good chance that I'll have to postpone the costume till a later convention because I've run into a lot of problems with it, but I'm still going to try to get it done in the remaining time before the con. My biggest problem is my wig. I bought a pre-styled one, but the wig has lost its curls and has become a bit of a mess. Hopefully I can fix it and finish the rest of the costume. Regarding this website, Stillvisions recently posted photos from a couple of shoots that I did with him last year. I haven't had time yet to add the 20+ pictures from the second Left 4 Dead shoot that I did with him last June, but I was able to add the Lisa from Silent Hill photos from a shoot that we did at Polaris to that costume’s gallery. I'll be adding the L4D photos to my Zoey costume page hopefully some time before AN. I also have plans to add a new section posting and linking to various sites and places where I've done fun Cosplay related interviews. When I get a chance I'll be adding that section too.

May 5th, 2011
It's been a month since my last update. I've been slowly working on my AN costumes. My Saki costume is pretty much complete although I probably won't be making her sword sheath harness. I haven't finished very much of my Shinku costume yet, but I'm hopeful that I'll get it done in time for AN. With just three weeks to go it's getting to be do or die time. After my Sherry costume, which I plan to make in the summer, I probably will be taking a bit of a hiatus from making costumes due to a lack of time and feeling a little worn down by it all. I definitely want to take on easier projects next year.

SolarTempest just posted pictures from the photoshoots that did at Wizard World Toronto Comic Con back in March and he took a few shots of me as Rebecca from Resident Evil when he found a neat photo spot and I really love the photos. I added them to the gallery on my Rebecca costume page. I'm really looking forward to the S.T.A.R.S. group that I'm going to be a part of at Youmacon especially since I just bought a new belt with a much nicer silver buckle for my costume. There should be a few more RE photos from Wizard World that I still need to get back from a couple of photographers from shoots that I did with Ammie as Jill and Jay as Chris. When I get a hold of those photos, I'll add them to the gallery too!

April 5th, 2011
Stillvisions posted a few new gallery preview shots from Youmacon 2010 and Fan Expo 2010 so I added one photo each to my Sam, Eternal Sailor Saturn and Eternal Sailor Chibi Moon costume pages. I really can't wait to see the full costume galleries when he finishes working on them. I especially can't wait to get more photos of my Sam costume. Despite my mask being lumpy, his preview shot makes me happy that I made the costume. :3 In terms of my costume progress for my AN costumes, my wonderful friend Bonnie will be lending me a cool looking katana that she made for a Jubei-chan costume a few years ago so I now have a sword that's con friendly for my Saki costume. :D I'm ecstatic to borrow a sword from her since I really hadn't thought to start looking for one till now and with the potential harness set-up for Saki, I really need something light-weight which limits my options. I'm not 100% sure if I'm going to bother with her crazy harness, but we'll see. I'm still modifying a pattern for my Shinku costume, but hopefully I'll start sewing the costume this weekend.

April 1st, 2011
It's been a couple of weeks since Wizard World Toronto Comic Con, so it's about time I took a moment to post about my con experience. It's pretty amazing to see just how quickly Wizard World is growing given that it's only the con's second year here in Toronto (although the con is re-appropriated from Paradise Comic Con so it did already have a fan base). The con was really busy this year. I enjoyed taking in the various sights and sounds of the event on the Saturday. I thought it was pretty well organized to handle the crowds except it was tough to deal with the lack of food vendors. I did participate in a Resident Evil group with Ammie and Jay and we had a really fun time. Ammie's Jill costume and Jay's Chris costume were both amazing and beautifully done with an awesome attention to detail. It was a pleasure to Cosplay with them and I look forward to getting the photos back from the mini shoots we did. I should be re-wearing Rebecca one more time for a bigger group at Youmacon, but after that the costume will probably be retired because it's really starting to show wear. Hopefully I'll find a Billy Cosplayer to take some shots with before I retire the costume! A huge highlight of Wizard World for me was seeing and getting a photo in the wicked fan modified DeLorean which looked like it was straight out of Back to the Future II. I'm a huge BTTF fan so it made my day to check out the car.

Regarding my site and Cosplay progress, I'm nearly finished my Saki costume for AN. I just need to finish up a few small details on my skirt and figure out what I'm doing for Saki's prop sword and sword harness. I haven't started my Shinku costume yet, but I have plans to make the dress this month so hopefully it will come together for AN. I added a new costume to the future Cosplay Possibilities list. After seeing Sucker Punch I very much would like to Cosplay as Babydoll. It's a costume I've been interested in for several months after seeing trailers for the film, but actually seeing the movie solidified my interest in Cosplaying Babydoll. Since I'm feeling motivated, I hope that I can make the costume this year for the summer con season after I get through my AN costume plans. Along with Shinku, Sherry and Saki (with plans to also fix my Sam costume) that will probably be all of my new costumes for this year. Hopefully I'm not being to ambitious, but it is fun to slowly work on costumes and have goals for getting them done several months down the road.

March 11th, 2011
Firstly, I must send out my deepest condolences to the people who went through the terrifying quake and tsunami in Japan earlier today. I have some friends that are living and working in the country and I'm really glad to hear that they're safe. It's sad to hear that there was a loss of life and hopefully the country will go through a smooth recovery process in the coming months.

Stillvisions recently posted some photos from the first shoot that I did with him of my Zoey costume from Left 4 Dead in my area back in early June. We did a shoot in and around a local school and in a garage of a house. The setting was pretty much perfect for L4D and I really love how the photos turned out. I did do a second shoot with Stillvisions at the ruins of an old mill a few days later and I'll post those photos as soon as they're available. The photos were totally worth the wait! Stillvisions is a master at capturing creepy settings and creating great horror themed shots!

Next week is Wizard World Toronto Comic Con. I'm really looking forward to the con's second year. Last year was a lot of fun despite setbacks like the fire alarm that went off halfway through the day. I'm only going to be attending the convention on Saturday the 19th. I have plans to participate in a small Resident Evil group with my good friends The Letter Jay and Ammie. They'll be Cosplaying as Chris and Jill respectively and I'll be re-wear my Rebecca costume. I think it's becoming a signature costume of mine since I can't seem to stop wearing it. XD Anyway, I'm really excited to finally be part of a RE1 group I really can't wait to see them at Wizard World and have a great con. If you're attending the con, be sure to say hi! (^^)

February 26th, 2011
I meant to update my website again before Con-G, but I didn't realize my domain registration was expiring in early February and my site went down a few days before the con. I had to switch registration companies so it took several days to get it back online. It's good to be back and I’m set for another year! Con-G was a rather good con. It's a small con that’s very friendly and it's well aware of its size and is run very well. The Holiday Inn where the con was located had an interesting layout although I didn't realize the hotel had a large swimming pool that I could have enjoyed. The weather was a bit inhospitable on Friday, but overall it was a nice weekend and I would recommend the con. Hopefully I'll be able to attend it again in the future since it was pretty relaxing and fun. :3 I re-wore my Ashley and Harry Potter costumes and I even received a hall award on Sunday for my Ashley costume which was a little unexpected. Regarding this site, I added a long overdue costume page for my Harry Potter costume to the "Other Media Costumes" section. Pan and I (Pan was dressed as Hermione) did a couple of shoots with different photographers and we already have the resulting images from the shoots. We can't thank Rock nam Lee enough for the great shoot we did with him! Next up con wise is Wizard World in a month. I'm not sure exactly what costume that I'll be wearing to that con, but I may be re-wearing Rebecca if The Letter Jay and Ammie Cosplay as RE1 Chris and Jill respectively. It would be great to be a part of a small Resident Evil group with my great friends! X3 If that's not in the cards, I'll have to dig around for another old costume to re-wear.

February 7th, 2011
It's very belated, but Happy New Year! This is my first time updating Stray Wind Cosplay since late November. I never intended to take so long to update my site, but it's been a bit of a down time for me since there hasn't been a lot of events happening lately and I've been waiting for photos to update costume pages. I’ve also been fighting a really terrible cold over the last few weeks. I'm working on my costumes for Anime North right now, but since the con is still several months away I'm not working too hard on anything. I have started working on my Saki costume from Onechanbara. I'm going to be part of an Onechanbara group with my wonderful friends Jukebox and Ammie (who will be Annna and Aya respectively). I'm pretty pumped for this obscure and crazy group. I'm currently working on the pleated skirt for Saki. It shouldn't be too challenging to finish the costume. I'm hoping to keep working on it and finish the whole costume by early March. My other major costume for AN is Shinku from Rozen Maiden. I know that costume is going to be a big challenge and I've spent quite a bit of money to buy the wig and fabrics for it. Hopefully I'll be starting that costume next month and I'll have three months to make it for AN. I'm crossing my fingers that everything will come together without any big hitches. Regarding updating this site (something that I've neglected lately) I added a costume page with one picture in the gallery of my Sam costume from Trick 'r Treat which I debuted at Youmacon last year. I still need to fix the costume up and I'm waiting for more photos of it, but I figured since I posted a blurb about the costume on Cosplay.com already it was only fair to add it to my Cosplay site. I really am looking forward to fixing the costume up later this year and doing a better job at representing the character.

This year is a bit more of a relaxed year for me regarding conventions. I'm going to fewer major cons this year. I missed Ohayocon last month although I am hoping to attend it next year. I will be going to Con-G on the 19th & 20th of this month. I've never been to Con-G before and I've heard that it's a great little con so I'm looking forward to seeing what it's like next week weekend. So far my only costume plan is to re-wear the great Harry Potter costume Pan whipped up for me last year when the Deathly Hollows Part 1 premiered. I'm looking forward to doing shoots with Pan at the con so I'll actually have some photo evidence of the costume so I can post a page for it here. I'll update this site when I know for sure what other costume I'm going to bring to Con-G. (^^)

November 25th, 2010
I added the costume page for the wonderful Eternal Sailor Saturn costume that I commissioned from Ammie to the "Bought/Borrowed Costumes" section. I uploaded pictures from the short but sweet shoot that Ammie and I (along with a few lovely Outer Scouts) did with Kyle Mistry at Youmacon. Eventually I'll have a few more photos of the costume care of Stillvisions. It was a blast to wear my Eternal Sailor Saturn costume. It's so amazingly well made and I have a lot of fond memories of the costume since I got to Cosplay with one of my best friends. :3 Ammie is a lovely Pluto! I also added shots from the awesome Resident Evil shoot that Ammie, The Letter Jay and I also did with Kyle Mistry. We found some really neat photo locations in the con centre including a cool lit floor that looked like it could be out of an Umbrella high-tech facility. We were even able to get some shots in a cafe area complete with a piano (which is great given how important pianos are in a lot of the Resident Evil games). XD I can't thank Kyle enough for the photos. We met a number of great Cosplayers at different photoshoots throughout the weekend so I thought Youmacon was a wonderful con. (^_^) Granted the con had its issues, which I already talked about, but hopefully things will be improved in 2011. I still need to add costume pages for my Sam costume from Trick 'r Treat and a page for the Harry Potter costume made for me by Pan so I'll update this site again soon. :3

November 22nd, 2010
I didn't mean to go nearly a month without updating, but the last several weeks since Youmacon and Halloween have been pretty busy and I've been waiting on pictures from recent events to make an update with substance. Youmacon this year was amazing! The con itself wasn't terribly impressive (the con experienced some growing pains with the layout of the new venue) but I got to spend time with some wonderful friends and wear some really fun costumes. I would consider Youmacon 2010 to be one of the best cons that I've ever attended. :3 I especially enjoyed re-wearing my Rebecca costume, being part of the big Shattered Memories group and Cosplaying as Sailor Saturn again with Ammie! <3 I've posted the costume page for my new Lisa costume from Shattered Memories in the "Video Games Costumes" section. Elemental posted her photos from the shoot that Avianna, Miri, Solstice_Wind, Leesers, Ammie and I did with her on Friday night of the con and they turned out so wonderfully! It was a real pleasure Cosplaying with my Silent Hill Cosplay friends and just seeing them in general was great. Since I'm not going to Ohayocon next year I'm not going to get a chance to see most of these lovely people again for quite a while and I'm really sad about that. At least I have some really sweet photos to remind me of the great time that we had at Youmacon! (^^) Hopefully we'll all get to hang out again at Youmacon 2011. Over the course of the con Ammie and I did a couple of photoshoots of our Sailor Scout and Resident Evil costumes with Kyle Mistry and he recently posted his shots from the various shoots. Over the next week I plan to update my site with the photos from those shoots. I'll be writing up the costume page for my Eternal Sailor Saturn costume soon. Ammie really outdid herself in the creation of my Saturn costume! It's beyond lovely and it was so much fun Cosplaying with her as Pluto. She really looks elegant and gorgeous as Pluto.

If anyone is wondering, I did sort of complete my Sam costume with a lot of help with the last minute fitting of the mask from my mother. It didn't turn out that well, though, so I plan to re-do the mask and re-wear the costume for perhaps a con or at least a photoshoot next fall. Now that I've done it once, I have a better idea how to improve the mask when I remake it. I'll still probably post a costume page with a few token pictures in meantime as I wait for next Halloween. Halloween was quite fun this year. It was nice to be back in the city for it despite rushing away from the con and missing all of the Sunday con events. Thankfully next year Halloween is a Monday and Youmacon isn't until the first weekend of November so the holiday won't conflict with the con.

In other Cosplay news, my wonderful friend Pan has been planning out ideas for PBS to Cosplay as the main trio from Harry Potter for the last couple of years. Lately, thanks to the impending release of the newest movie, she was inspired to make robes and so last Friday Pan and I Cosplayed as book versions of Harry and Hermoine to a downtown showing of the latest Harry Potter movie. The robes she made are simply gorgeous and the new movie turned out to be a lot of fun despite the fact that the book the movie was based on was somewhat boring at times. We didn't really take pictures at the event, but when I have photo evidence of my costume I'll be sure to post pictures here. We're going to switch around characters when we do the full trio. Despite the fact that I dislike Ron as a character, out of the three of us I'm the best one to Cosplay the character so I'll be taking on the role of Ron as Pan will be Hermoine and Sakura will be Harry. It will be a fun group to be a part of. (^^) At some point I want to borrow the girl version of the uniform and Cosplay as movie Hermoine as I've been told occasionally that I somewhat resemble Emma Watson. We still need to order sweaters and get character wigs, but we can't wait to do a shoot probably around U of T next year. We've wanted to do a group for ages so it's really exciting. (^_^) Thanks to Pan for the costume! I can never thank her enough for her Cosplaying with me and even going out of her way to make costumes for me for groups.

October 28th, 2010
It's rather early in the morning (still nighttime actually) on the 28th. I'm still sewing my final costume for Youma so I'm crossing my fingers that I'll have it done in time for the con. I've grown to really love Youmacon because it's not too far from home and it's a great con for connecting with friends from the US and Canada. It's also a nicely organized and exciting event. Hopefully Youmacon 2010 will be amazing. :3 My costume line-up is Eternal Sailor Saturn (which I commissioned from Ammie) on Friday during the day. I'm wearing the costume to match Ammie who will be Cosplaying as Eternal Sailor Pluto. On Friday evening I'll be debuting another new costume, Lisa from Silent Hill: Shattered Memories. It's mostly a store bought costume with alterations, but I can't wait to Cosplay with Ammie, Avianna, Leesers, Miri and Solstice_Wind. We're pretty much covering the entire human cast of the game minus Doctor K. :D On Saturday I'll hopefully be debuting my Sam costume from Trick 'r Treat. I've suffered a lot of setbacks with the costume (and I'm still working on it now), but hopefully I'll finish it up before I leave for the con in a few hours. The mask just doesn't seem to want to cooperate. My final costume for the con to be worn Saturday evening is my standby costume, Rebecca from Resident Evil Zero. I'll be wearing it to be part of a small RE group with Ammie as Claire. I'm looking forward to Cosplaying with Ammie who is such great RE enthusiast. :D I'll be heading home rather early on Sunday to decorate a friend's house and give out candy on Halloween, but I'm looking forward to enjoying the con and exploring the Renaissance Center. I'm sure it will be an amazing weekend! I hope to see many of you there and to everyone else, I hope you guys have a wonderful Halloween! :3

October 5th, 2010
The wonderful month of October is now upon us. I'm beginning to seriously work on my costumes for Youma. Pan helped me explore downtown and I was able to buy pink scrubs for my Lisa costume. They need some alteration work, but the colour and style is generally right. After the shirt alteration, I need to experiment with makeup and fake blood, get my wig cut and make the name tag and the costume will be complete. I have finally started working on my Sam costume. We'll see if it comes together and I'm happy with it in time for Youma and Halloween. I've had a lot of setbacks thanks to a lot of things happening in my life right now. I'm going to try not to stress myself out with my costumes for the month and just go with the flow and see how its comes together. October is my favourite month because I love the Halloween spirit so I'm going to try to enjoy it! Lightbringer recently sent his photos of the Eternal Sailor Moon group that I was a part of to Ammie who passed them on to me. I added a few shots from the shoot to the costume gallery.

September 26th, 2010
I'm back from a wonderful week long vacation at Disney World. I adore the park so it was a great experience and I'm already looking forward to my next opportunity to travel to the park again (but that probably won't be for at least a couple of years). Now I need to get back in the swing of things. In the next few weeks my aim is to work on and finish my Sam costume so it will be ready for Youma and Halloween. Regarding site updates, SolarTempest posted his galleries from the summer Cosplay picnic so I added seven new pictures of my Snow White costume to the costume gallery. I certainly have a lot of photo documentation of that costume. I love the colours in SolarTempest's photos and he captures the landscape really nicely. The best part is that I have a few really nice photos of Amber and me together. It was such a treat Cosplaying with her. :3 It looks as though we'll be Cosplaying as Sailor Scouts together again at Youmacon so I'm really looking forward to that.

September 12th, 2010
Kyle Mistry, one of the photographers that was nice enough to shoot the Eternal Sailor Moon group that I was a part of, posted his photos from the shoot so I added the Eternal Sailor Chibi Moon costume that I wore to the con to the "Bought/Borrowed" section. I'll have more photos to post of the group soon. I'm currently working on a Lisa costume from Silent Hill: Shattered Memories for a Shattered Memories group at Youmacon. It's a super simple costume since I'm just going to buy cheap scrubs. Leesers, Avianna, Miri, Solstice_Wind and Ammie are all in the group so it's going to be a lot of fun! Next week I'm going to Disney World with a close friend of mine for a week. It was a bit of a spontaneous trip (which I was thankfully able to get time off work for) and I'm really looking forward to exploring Disney World and Universal and checking out Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party and Universal's Halloween Horror Nights. My friend Jen and I are planning to dress up during the Halloween Party at the Magic Kingdom and I'm thinking of wearing an Alice in Wonderland inspired lolita dress that I own (with my standard black pigtail lolita wig). It should be a good chance to get some fun costume photos and of course, have a blast in the park! I really can't wait for this amazing trip! :3

September 3rd, 2010
Fan Expo is over for another year. I've been going to conventions for 10 years now and I've been to over 30 cons (two conventions of which I've been to 9 and 10 times) and Fan Expo 2010 was the most poorly organized and planned convention that I can remember ever being to. When the con broke fire code for most of the day on Saturday it was downright dangerous to be anywhere near the Metro Toronto Convention Centre with the massive crowds of aggravated fans that had gathered outside the con hoping to get in. I managed to avoid the crowds because I was doing costume photoshoots for most of the day, but I didn't manage to set foot into the Convention Centre until after 6PM even though I arrived at the con before 10:30AM. It was pretty crazy. It's sad to see Fan Expo turn out that way since it was the con that introduced me to cons and got me interested in Cosplay back in 2001. Hopefully the staff will clean up their act for 2011.

The costumes that I wore to Fan Expo were all well received. I only debuted one new costume and it was the adorable Eternal Sailor Chibi Moon costume that I borrowed from Ammie to be part of a Eternal Inner Senshi group with her and her friends. It was pleasure being a part of the group! We did a few shoots during Saturday and I look forward to posting shoot photos in the coming weeks and months. (^^) I did a shoot with Rock nam Lee on Sunday of my Snow White costume and I posted my favourite photos in the costume gallery. I treasure every photo of that costume. There were a few children at the convention that loved seeing me and the other awesome Disney Cosplayers at the con. I think a moment I really loved was when the doorman at the Intercontinental hotel greeted me as I left the hotel and said, "it's nice to see you again Ms. White!" It made my giggle. :3 Rock nam Lee also took some short video clips of my costume and compiled them into a clip video which he set to sweet background music and posted on his YouTube channel. It was very nice shooting with him and the video is very touching. I linked it in the Snow White costume page. (^_^)

Tomorrow is Fan Expo and I can't wait for the con. I can't believe this will be my tenth time attending the convention. My Cosplay plans are to wear my Batgirl costume tomorrow to match my awesome friend Pan who will be Supergirl. On Saturday I'm going to be part of an Eternal Sailor Moon group with Amber and several of her friends. I will be Cosplaying as Eternal Sailor Chibi Moon, which again I will be borrowing from Amber. Pink is my favourite colour so I can't be happier to Cosplay as Chibi Moon. :3 I can't thank Amber enough for this opportunity. In the afternoon I plan to change into a new Sailor Lolita outfit and on Sunday I plan to re-wear my Snow White costume. I look forward to seeing a lot of guests and panels at the con and hopefully I'll see a lot of you there too!

August 21st, 2010
Over the last few weeks Stillvisions has posted his preview shots for a couple of shoots that I've done with him since June so I've added a photo to my Zoey costume page and another photo to my Lisa costume page. The full shoots will be posted later in the year so more great photos are yet to come. (^^) Regarding Fan Expo costume plans, I've been slacking off a bit because of the hot summer and I haven't really felt too motivated to make a really warm mascot style costume for Fan Expo. Therefore, I'm going to hold off finishing my Sam costume from Trick 'r Treat until the fall when it will be a little cooler. Plus, making the mask is proving to be a bigger challenge than I expected. Hopefully with an extra two months to work on it, I'll sort out my concerns with the mask. The plan is to finish it before Youmacon so I can do a great pumpkin patch photoshoot. At least that's my hope! XD Instead of wearing Sam to Fan Expo, my current plan is to re-wear my Batgirl costume that Pan made for me to match her since she's planning to re-wear her Supergirl costume on Friday of the con. It's definitely more appropriate for summer. (^^);; I just bought a new orange wig for the costume since my old wig is a little worse for wear so I'm looking forward to re-wearing the costume.

August 5th, 2010
Elemental posted the shots that she took of me as Asuka from AN so I now have a few really pretty photos of my costume. I finally made up the costume page for the costume, which can be found in the Anime and Manga Costumes section. I'm looking forward to fixing up my Asuka costume and finding a chance to re-wear it since it's super comfy and a great outfit for summer cons and events. :3 I also added a few new photos to my Snow White costume page courtesy of Lightbringer.

July 20th, 2010
Stillvisions posted photos from the shoot that we did of my Maria costume from Youmacon last year so I finally have a great number of awesome shots of the costume. I had some issues with the fit of the costume at Youma so I'm really glad that most of the shots turned out wonderfully. Maria isn't really a character that I can pull off convincingly but there are a few shots from the set that really impress me. I also added a few photos care of chef_belegfea on Cosplay.com to my Snow White costume page from the Cosplay Picnic.

July 14th, 2010
The Toronto Cosplay Picnic went splendidly this year. I broke out of my shell a little bit and I wore a surprise costume. Back in March I purchased Limebarb's Snow White costume and I knew a picnic on Centre Island would be a perfect place to debut it. It was a little hot to wear it in the middle of summer, but the costume got a fantastic reaction from the public. I felt like a costumer at Disney World! My wonderful friend Amber surprised me by making herself a gorgeous Ariel costume so we had a lot of fun wandering around the island doing photoshoots and taking pictures with children and adults alike. I already have several photoshoot pictures from the day so I’ve created a costume page, which you can find in the "Bought/Borrowed Costumes" section. Thanks to Pan, Juan and Lateonomen for photos! The photos from Juan are especially wonderful. Since I was a kid I dreamed of Cosplaying a Disney character so actually Cosplaying as Snow White and making so many kids, along with myself, happy was a dream come true! I'll probably add more photos to the costume page in the coming months. In other news, Polaris is coming up this weekend. I will be going just for Saturday. I really can't decide at the moment which costume to wear. I'm debating mostly between fixing up Asuka and wearing that (since I have almost no photos of the costume and I have yet to make a costume page for it) or I could re-wear Snow White or Batgirl. Decisions, decisions! I only have a couple of days to decide what to wear. I'm looking forward to the convention! It was a lot of fun to attend last year. Polaris has a great atmosphere.

July 5th, 2010
It's been nearly a month since my last update. XD I feel a little bad since I have yet to write or add the costume page for my Asuka costume. I'm still waiting to get some photos back from Elemental and I can already see how I need to improve the costume before I re-wear it to get some more photos of it. Hopefully I'll get that costume page up this month. As a birthday gift my friend Pan made me a new layout for this site. I'll probably change the current layout sometime during the summer. I'm pretty excited about the update because I think her design looks great! In my last post I mentioned that I was doing a shoot with Stillvisions later that day of my Zoey costume. I got a haircut last week so that costume is on hiatus until I let me hair grow out again. Stillvisions just sent me a few shots from our shoot that turned out really nicely. We really found a great photo location that just screamed Left 4 Dead. I posted the preview shots in the Zoey costume page and I'll hopefully have some more photos to post in the coming months. (^_^) Next Saturday is the Toronto Island Cosplay Picnic. It's really amazing that the event is in its seventh year and is still going strong! Thanks to Pan and Elemental for organizing it every year! I have a fun costume in store for this year, which I bought from a fellow Cosplayer. I've been working on a wig and trying to improve my makeup skills to get the right look for the character and hopefully I'll look fitting for the character on Saturday! I'm both excited and nervous about attending the picnic so wish me luck! :D

June 8th, 2010
Now that some time has passed since Anime North, I've been able to gather several pictures of my costumes from the con. I created new costume pages for the borrowed Sailor Saturn costume that I wore on Friday of the con care of Amber. There are many awesome group and solo pictures up in the costume gallery of the Sailor Moon group that I was a part of. IcePhoenix took most of them. Thank you very much for the photos! It was truly a pleasure Cosplaying as Saturn, so much so that I will be commissioning Amber to make me my own Saturn costume. That does bring up the issue of making her staff, but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. XD I've also posted the costume page for my Zoey costume, which I wore on Sunday of AN. I didn't get to wear it for very long given how much time it took to make the costume, but it turned out to be a really fun and comfy costume when I did wear it! I did a shoot after the con with Stillvisions and Pan and Pan sent me some shots, which is what is on display in the costume gallery right now. I will be doing a second shoot with Stillvisions later today for some neat outdoor photos in a wooded area. I'll have those photos later in the year and they'll be worth the wait I'm sure. :3 I'm surprised how nicely the photos Pan sent me of my Zoey costume turned out given that I had some problems with the fit of the costume. At least I didn't have to worry that much about looking proper. XD I added a couple of shots to my Rebecca costume page also care of IcePhoenix. In one photo you can see my new health spray prop that was made for me by my friend Adrien. Epic props are epic! :D I may be adding a few more photos to my costume galleries in the coming weeks as I find new images. I'm waiting on shots of my Asuka costume from Elemental before I write and post that costume page, but those pictures should be coming in the next few weeks. (^_^)

June 1st, 2010
I had a really nice Anime North this year. I wasn't feeling that well for the whole weekend and I had some problems with some of my footwear for my various costumes giving me blisters, but overall it was a really enjoyable con, which was nice given that it was my tenth AN. It was unfortunate that I had to work on my costumes right up until the last minute, but they all turned out really nice for the most part. I should have photos of my new Asuka and Zoey costumes in the coming weeks. Hopefully I'll be able to do a shoot with my Zoey costume before I get my haircut this month. I also can't wait to get some photos of the Sailor Saturn costume that I got to borrow from Amber for big Sailor Moon group on Friday evening. Participating in that group was a lot of fun.

May 28th, 2010
Anime North 2010 is pretty much here (I'll be leaving for the con once I get a few hours of sleep and I finish packing since it's after midnight as I'm typing this update). It's been an uphill battle getting ready for this con with other things happening in my life, but my costumes are pretty much done and I'm excited about AN! My final costume plans are Sailor Saturn for the daytime on Friday of AN (care of my friend Amber) and I'll then change into Rebecca (Resident Evil 0) for the evening when I help to host the Resident Evil panel at midnight. On Saturday I'll be Cosplaying Asuka (Neon Genesis Evangelion) in her comfy yellow dress. Finally, for Sunday of the con I'll be Cosplaying Zoey (Left 4 Dead). I hope to see many of you there! To everyone going, have a great con! (^_^)

May 24th, 2010
Anime North 2010 is fast approaching. Situations have prevented me from getting my costumes done early, but I'm hopeful that I'll be able to finish my costumes before Friday. I'm almost finished with Zoey. The jacket needs to be hemmed and the outfit needs to be distressed. Asuka is still mostly in pieces, but given that it's a sundress I'm hoping that I can pull it together in a couple of days. At least I finished repairing my Rebecca costume. Also, I'm quite honoured to be participating in a Sailor Moon Cosplay group on Friday of the con. I will be borrowing a Sailor Saturn costume that my friend Amber made to help fill out the group to include all the Sailor Soldiers. It's always been a bit of a childhood dream to Cosplay from Sailor Moon and Sailor Saturn is one of my favourite Sailors so I'm sure it's going to be a lot of fun. I should hopefully be making one more general post here before the con hopefully announcing my final costume plans for the con (and that I finished the costumes that I'm working on). Stay tuned for that! :3

April 10th, 2010
I've received a lot of the photos that were taken of Pan, Sakura and me of our Super heroine/villain trio group from Wizard World so I've added a new costume page for my Batgirl costume to the Other Media Costumes section. I have 45 photos of the costume in the costume page so far. I had trouble finding photos that I didn’t want to post in the costume gallery for the purposes of saving space since so many of the photos taken at Wizard World turned out wonderfully! Thanks to SolarTempest, Elemental and Ackson Lee for the photos! :3

March 29th, 2010
Stillvisions recently posted photos from the shoot that we did of my Lisa costume from Otakon last year. I added my favourite photos to the Lisa costume page. Now you can see my updated costume with the longer skirt that made it more accurate to her dress design in the first game. I went to Wizard World Toronto Comic Con yesterday. It was its first year here in Toronto and that was sort of evident in how small and empty it was. It was actually pretty nice because the venue was really open and the walkways were fairly clear. It’s funny that years ago I thought it would be neat if a con was happen in the Direct Energy Centre and low and behold now a con is being held there. XD I didn't really talk to any of the guests, but it was a perfect opportunity to spend quality time talking to any of the celebrities because hardly anyone was busy. I mostly just walked around the venue and took pictures around the fake police car that was an ad for Splinter Cell. :D I will have photos coming from a paid shoot with Elemental along with photos from Ackson Lee and probably some others fairly soon. I had a fun time running around with Pan and Sakura as original versions of comic book characters. Pan made all of our costumes, which used the same pattern as the Star Trek dresses she made last summer, but with some fun new additions. I was Batgirl (sort of pseudo Barbara Gordon). In my case, I had the bat logo, a cape and a mask. Pan was Supergirl complete with the red and blue colour scheme and Sakura was the most adorable rendition of Catwoman ever! She could steal your heart in an instant with her cuteness. :D Thanks to Pan for making Saturday a blast! I have found some photos from Ackson and I will be posting photos and the costume page for my Batgirl costume soon. :3 PBS took Wizard World by storm and hopes to return next year! In other news, I have the patterns that I need to start Zoey and Asuka now and more than enough fabric so my hope is to get the jacket done for Zoey in the next few weeks and I’ll start Asuka soon after.

March 19th, 2010
I managed to find some fabric with help from my friend Pan for both Zoey and Asuka so I will definitely be working on those costumes for Anime North. Hopefully I won't run into snags while working on them. I'm going to start working on the sewing very soon. Shinku has been postponed but hopefully I will get that costume together for Anime North 2011. (^^);; Regarding website content, I added a new "costume" to the Bought/Borrowed section. It's a page for the Sweet Lolita dress that I bought while I was in Japan a couple of summers ago. I'm really fond of the dress and I've worn it to a couple of cons. I have some photos of it from DTAC 2008 so I figured it was about time that I actually make a costume page for it. XD I hope that I can eventually wear it for a nice outdoor shoot for much more fitting pictures. (^^);; In convention news, I will most likely not being attending March Toronto AnimeCON this weekend due to other obligations. I will be attending Wizard World on March 27th (just for the Saturday) to get a feel for the con. Along with my friends Pan and Sakura, we have fun secret costume plans for the convention, which I'm very excited about. :3 It's all thanks to Pan who is in the business of bringing silly ideas to life! <3

March 10th, 2010
I'm considering pushing back my planned Shinku costume, which I was hoping to make for AN because of issues with finding fabric and a lack of time. It's a costume that I don't really want to rush so I'll try to get fabric for it soon to start it, but I'm not going to set deadlines for it quite yet. Instead, I'm hoping to work on a Zoey costume from Left 4 Dead. I've liked the character since I first played the game in June 2009, but I couldn't really make the costume until now since my hair is starting to grow out. I'm pretty excited about it and it shouldn't be that hard to make if I can find fabric for her track jacket. I'm also hoping to make an Asuke costume from Evangelion as a classic Anime costume. I'm interested in making Asuka's yellow dress. It's an outfit of hers that I've admired for years and I've always wanted to make. It's not too complicated so I think it would be fun to put together for AN. It's still in limbo so my costume plans could change.

February 17th, 2010
I added two new link buttons and 4 new link banners to the Link Me section. They are of costumes that I've made/worn in 2009. It was about time that I updated the available buttons and banners. :3

February 16th, 2010
Straywind.com is now being hosted by my good friend Pan. I can't thank her enough! <3 Amanda posted her pictures from the Rule of Rose shoot at Ohayocon so I added 18 new pictures to my Eleanor costume gallery. It was awesome to get to be part of a big RoR group! I've updated the Future Possibilities list with some new planned costumes. I recently started planning out my Shinku costume, which I'm hoping to make for AN this year. It's a costume that I've been meaning to make for a few years now. Hopefully I'll get a chance to go fabric shopping soon to get material. I'm looking forward to working on it bit by bit over the next few months. My plan is to get it done well in advance of the con. I hope that I can stick to that plan. XD

February 6th, 2010
Amanda posted her pictures from the Silent Hill shoot at Ohayocon so I added a few new pictures to my Heather costume gallery. It's nice to have some new pictures of an old favourite costume. :3 It was a lot of fun to be part of such an awesome Silent Hill group. Updates to the future costume list will be coming shortly. I'll be starting on a new costume for Anime North soon.

February 3rd, 2010
I'm back from Ohayocon. It was a wonderful con this year, in fact, it was one of the best cons that I've ever been to. I had a great time hanging out with a lot of my friends that I rarely get to see (given the fact that I'm from Canada). I will be going again next year unless something major comes up. I did a couple of photoshoots with Elemental that I can't wait to see of my Eleanor costume as a part of a Rule of Rose group and of my Heather costume that were taken during a Silent Hill photoshoot meet-up on Saturday night. The Silent Hill photoshoot was one of the highlights of the con for me. I meet so many great Cosplayers there and everyone was so nice. It was really touching. :3 I really can't wait till Ohayocon 2011! As I wait for the photoshoot photos, I did find a picture of my Heather costume from Eurobeat Kasumi and a few of my Rebecca costume from Eurobeat King that I've posted in my Rebecca and Heather costume pages. I really loved wearing all my costumes at the con. Rebecca, especially, was really well received but my Heather costume will always have a special place in my heart even though that costume is a bit old and not that well made. XD Of course, the RoR group was amazing! We're so close to having a full main cast.

January 26th, 2010
Happy New Year! My greetings are a bit late. XD Lately I haven't really had much to post on my Cosplay site. I'm still waiting for some shoot photos of my Ashley, Maria and Lisa costumes from Stillvisions. They'll be coming probably in the next few months. I will be attending Ohayocon next weekend. It may be the only American con that I attend this year so I'm a bit sad about that, but Ohayocon 2008 was one of my favourite cons that I've ever attended so I'm looking forward to attending the con again this year. I'm still finalizing my costume plans but I will be wearing my Eleanor costume for a big Rule of Rose group on Friday night. I’ll also be wearing Rebecca for most of the day on Saturday. I'll be changing into my old Heather costume for a Silent Hill 3 group as part of the big Silent Hill shoot around midnight on Saturday night. It should be a blast! If I can make it work, I'm also considering bringing Lisa to wear during the day on Friday, but that's only a small possibility right now. I'm looking forward to all the survival horror Cosplay goodness at the con! Elemental will be taking photos of the RoR group and possibly the Silent Hill group so I should have some great pictures after the con. :3 After Ohayo I will hopefully be starting my big AN costume by early March. I'm going to be making a Shinku costume. Shinku from Rozen Maiden has been on my future Cosplay list for years. I'm really glad that I finally should be making the costume soon. I have one other costume in mind to make this year for sure that's not already on my Cosplay list. I'll be adding it soon with the hope of working on it over the summer for Fan Expo. It's going to be a slow year for me Cosplay wise but hopefully a fun one. I look forward to seeing some of you guys at Ohayocon. (^^)

November 25th, 2009
SolarTempest posted his shoot photos from Youmacon so I added the pictures from the shoot I did with him of my Rebecca costume to that costume page. I really love the shoot photos because we managed to find an interesting back alley area of the Hyatt hotel, which had an awesome Resident Evil feel to it. I’m really looking forward to wearing my Rebecca costume again in the future. :3

November 4th, 2009
I'm back from Youmacon. I had a pretty good time at the con. My new Rebecca costume was really well received and I'm really happy with how it turned out. I can foresee it being my new standby costume to be re-worn a lot of times because it's comfy and well constructed. :3 I'm proud of the vest which is one of my all time favourite costume pieces that I've worked on. I did a photoshoot with SolarTempest of my Rebecca costume and I'm really excited about seeing the pictures from that shoot when they're up. I did a shoot with Stillvisions on Friday of the con of my Maria costume so hopefully I'll have some nice shots of that costume to post in the future. (^^) In the meantime, because of how excited I am about how my Rebecca costume turned out, I wrote up the costume page and posted it. I added a few photos Pan took of me from around the con including pictures from the RE shoot and photos before I did a shoot with SolarTempest.

October 29th, 2009
Just a quick update before I head down to Youmacon in a few hours. :3 I just completed my Rebecca costume and I'm really proud of how it turned out. It took a lot of time but the result was really worth it. I'm looking forward to wearing it on Saturday and hopefully checking out a Resident Evil photoshoot at the con. My costume plans for the weekend are Maria (Silent Hill 2) on Friday, Rebecca (Resident Evil Zero) on Saturday and I plan to wear my Starfleet Commander outfit for fun for a few hours with Sakura as a medical officer on Sunday. It should be a fun con. To everyone going I hope to see you there and to everyone else I hope you have a wonderful Halloween! (^_^)

October 18th, 2009
This is just a quick update about the status of my Rebecca costume that I'm working on for Youmacon. It's coming together slowly but surely whenever I can find time to work on it. Now that the con and Halloween is quickly approaching I'm finding it hard to find time to work on it, but the vest is half done and I already have a lot of the accessories done. I need to alter a pair of pants, cut my wig, paint my boots, make one belt and make a pouch. I still have a lot on my plate but I should be able to get it done in time for the con and hopefully I won't be rushing to finish it at the last moment. I'm pretty excited about Youma. My current plans are to re-wear my Maria costume on the Friday and wear Rebecca on Halloween making it another survival horror game costume con for me. I'm not sure if I'll bring a third costume for an evening or to wear on Sunday. Maria is kind of a chilly costume for this time of year but hopefully I'll get some nice shots of the costume. I'll make another post a little closer to the con when I hopefully finish my Rebecca costume and I have set my plans.

September 15th, 2009
Finally a big update. :3 SolarTempest posted his photos from the Toronto Centre Island Cosplay Picnic that happened back in early June so I now have photographic evidence of my Jill costume. I'm not all that happy with how the costume turned out, though, but I'm quite thrilled with some of the photos he posted. I finally added the costume page for Jill. I'm really happy that I wrote about the construction of the costume because I was starting to forget. It took a lot of work to get the costume done and I might fix it up before I wear it again. I would like to wear it one more time at least to do a more appropriate RE themed shoot hopefully in downtown Toronto. At the moment, my attention is fixed on starting Rebecca. I ordered pants for the costume and I now have material thanks to my friend Amber for Rebecca's vest. I'm looking forward to making a mock of the vest, which I'll use as padding. In terms of more site updates, I added a new pic from Fan Expo to my Starfleet Commander costume page along with the preview pic from the short Resident Evil 4 shoot that I did with Stillvisions along with my wonderful friend Amber (who was Ada). I'm really looking forward to seeing the rest of the pictures from the shoot.

September 1st, 2009
I'm still waiting on new photos to add my Jill costume to this site but since Fan Expo has come and gone for another year, I thought it would be best to write an update message for the site. I did intend to write a pre-con post but somehow it got forgotten in the craziness of the last few days before con. I ended up re-wearing my Ashley costume on Friday for a small RE4 group. Stillvisions took some photos of me with my friend Amber (who is a most excellent Ada) which I'll post here when he gets a chance to add the gallery. :3 On Saturday I wore my Starfleet Commander dress along with Pan and we had a lot of fun running around con. I bought a phaser and a communicator on Friday of the con so I had epic props for fun photos. I look forward to eventually doing another shoot with my group. It's really a blast to wear our dresses and the reaction we got was pretty good. I volunteered to help backstage at the masquerade and I was den mom so I had a fun time seeing a lot of the acts from behind the scenes. It was a good experience. On Sunday of the con I re-wore a Lolita dress that I bought in Japan last year. I think the reaction that I got to my dress was the greatest of all my outfits for the weekend. XD It really is quite a nice dress though. I do intend to add a page for the few pictures that I do have of my Lolita dress to this site at some point. I intended to do a photoshoot with Sakura (who was also in adorable Lolita wear) during the con but we never got a chance to. Considering how much I love my dress I'll definitely be wearing it again so a shoot will happen. (^_^) The best part of the con for me, besides of course hanging out with my friends, was seeing Leonard Nimoy and buying a Robbie the Rabbit plushie in the Artists Alley. I really love my Robbie! I've wanted a plush of Robbie for years so it made my con. :3 Next up is Youmacon during the Halloween weekend. I'm planning on re-wearing my Maria costume and I'm hoping that I can make a Rebecca costume (RE0) to debut at the con. I've been considering Cosplaying her for a very long time and it's become a bit of a dream costume for me so I'm very excited about it and also really worried that I won't get it done in time. I really want to put my heart and soul into it so I'm hoping it will all come together in time for the con. So far I bought a wig that needs to be cut and my friend Amber is selling me fabric to use for the vest. I'm going to start hunting for fabric for the rest of the costume and I'm hoping for the best. I'll be sure to post costume updates here. It was nice to take a bit of a break after Otakon but I'm ready to get back to working on costumes again. :3

August 11th, 2009
SolarTempest posted photos from Polaris and Sakura, Pan and I did a Star Trek costume shoot with him there so I saved a bunch of my favourites and have added them to my Starfleet Commander costume page. Hopefully he'll get a chance to post photos from the Cosplay Picnic before Fan Expo so I can finally add my Jill costume page. I really can't wait to see photos of that costume. :3 I also added a few photos that Avianna shared with me of my Eleanor costume that were taken by Daguru at Otakon.

July 24th, 2009
Since I'm so excited about sharing photos from the wonderful Rule of Rose shoot, Leesers, Avi and I did with Elemental, I added the Eleanor costume page to the Video Game Costume section. I have a pretty lengthy costume information section because that costume was a bit of a challenge to make but really worth it in the end. (^_^)

July 23rd, 2009
I'm back from Otakon. It was a great experience getting to see the con. It was huge and very busy which was quite a switch from a lot of the cons I've been attending recently. I spent a good chunk of the con wandering by myself and I was somewhat unreachable because I don't own a cellphone which was problematic, but I was still able to have a good time. My costumes were well received although I was only recognized twice on Friday when I debuted my Eleanor costume from Rule of Rose. I did a fantastic shoot with Amanda with Leesers and Avi (who were Jennifer and Diana respectively) and the shots have turned out amazingly. I will be adding the costume page for Eleanor in the next few days. :3 I'm also waiting for pics from a second shoot with Daguru which should be interesting. Stillvisions did a small shoot with me on Saturday night when I was wearing Lisa so I'll have some photos of my updated costume soon. I got the best reaction to my Ashley costume but I didn't do a new shoot. I will be re-wearing that costume at Fan Expo hopefully as part of a group so maybe I'll get some new pictures in August. I consider Ashley my signature costume so I love wearing it. (^^) I did a bit of a revamp of the costume section and added new banners for some of the sections that I’ve previously neglected. It's mostly for fun but it was necessary in the case of me adding a new section for costumes from other media. I added the original design Starfleet Commander costume Pan made for me (and herself and Sakura as well) based on the designs of the female officers in Star Trek The Original Series to that section. Amanda took some photos of us at Polaris so I have photo evidence of the costume. :3 It was a super comfy outfit to wear so we'll probably be wearing them at Fan Expo next month as well.

July 16th, 2009
I'm putting the finishing touches on my Eleanor costume and preparing to take an early morning flight from Buffalo to Baltimore for Otakon. I'm really excited about attending this con for the first time. I've been interested in going to Otakon for a few years now. This will be another survival horror costume con for me. On Friday (tomorrow) I'll be Cosplaying with Avianna and Leesers in a Rule of Rose group (hence why I'm making Eleanor). I'm thrilled to be a part of this group because this game needs more Cosplay love. :3 On Saturday I'll be re-wearing my Lisa (Silent Hill) costume for an evening Silent Hill photoshoot with other Silent Hill Cosplayers and on Sunday I'll be re-wearing Ashley (Resident Evil 4) because it's a signature costume of mine and it's pretty comfy. I suppose I'll be boiling due to the summer heat in all of my costumes. XD Anyway, I'm really looking forward to the con since it's sure to be a blast! :3

July 11th, 2009
I'm still working on my Eleanor costume for Otakon. It's coming along slowly but surely, Hopefully I'll have it done before the last minute. I'll be attending Polaris today. Pan made an original design Federation uniform loosely based on the outfits from Star Trek the original series for me. Pan, Sakura and I will be doing a small Star Trek group as we'll each be Cosplaying a different colour (crewmember). I will be gold (command). I'm looking forward to attending the con but tomorrow I'll get back to work on my costume for Otakon. XD

June 21st, 2009
I've ordered most of the materials and the wig for my Eleanor costume for the Rule of Rose group I'm going to be a part of at Otakon this year. Otakon is quickly approaching but I'm pretty confident that I'll be able to get the costume done in time. (^_^) Sadly, my Lia costume has been put on the backburner because the group I'm going to be a part of has decided to delay our costumes so I'm thinking of pushing back the costume till probably AN next year. That’s really a good idea since it's a pretty complicated costume and I want to spend a lot of time getting the details just right. At the Centre Island Cosplay Picnic this year, I re-wore my Jill (RE3) costume which I made for AN and SolarTempest took some pictures of me which means I'll have good photo evidence of the costume and I can make the costume page soon. (^_^) I did add one photo to my Lisa costume page which was taken at AN by Raymond Turner who was asking Cosplayers to take pictures of them on and around his motorcycle. I really like how the photo turned out so I decided to post it. At the moment, I'm highly tempted to make a horror costume (a monster this time) for Fan Expo this year. We'll see if I can create something interesting after Otakon.

June 2nd, 2009
Carroll sent me the photos from the shoot we did of my Lisa costume at Katsucon yesterday so I posted a few of my favourites in the Lisa costume page. I may add more photos later. I think the shots turned out really nicely. :3

May 30th, 2009
I recently booked my plane ticket and purchased my pre-reg for Otakon so I will be attending the convention for sure. I've wanted to check out Otakon for the last few years so I'm really excited about attending the con this year. I will definitely be looking forward to meeting Mary Elizabeth McGlynn since she's done a lot of the vocals for songs from several of the Silent Hill games. :3 I have a couple of costumes planned for the con. I've been invited to join in a Rule of Rose group, which I'm really looking forward to. My major costume of the con (and probably of the year) is going to be Lia from World Destruction, which is for another Cosplay group that is going to be a blast to be a part of. If I bring a third costume to the con it will probably be Ashley, Lisa or Maria. AN is just behind me but I need to start my costumes for Otakon in the next week if I hope to get them done in time. XD Wish me luck! :D

May 28th, 2009
Anime North was really great this year. The con was really well spread out so crowding wasn’t a big issue despite the large number of attendees. The Silent Hill panel that I ran this year went very well. I probably will organize another panel for next year and maybe even run a Resident Evil one too. (^^) I really enjoyed wearing my Lisa and Maria costumes. My Jill costume didn't turn out quite as I had hoped and it needs some adjustments before I re-wear it. I added the costume page for my Maria costume. None of my photographer friends were at the con so I don't really have great pictures of my costume. I just have a few photos that my friend took on my not so great camera. XD Hopefully I'll be able to do a shoot and get some nice photos in the next couple of months. My write-up for the costume is pretty detailed. It was a really fun costume to put together since I love Silent Hill 2. :3 I don't have any photos of my improved Lisa costume as well so I can't update that page but I love how that costume turned out and I'll probably re-wear at a con during the summer. I need to start working on my costumes for Otakon. I'll hopefully be part of a World Destruction group (which I'm really excited about) and also a Rule of Rose group. The next month and a half are going to be very busy for me.

May 22nd, 2009
I've completed my Maria and Jill costumes and I've fixed Lisa so the dress length is more accurate. I'm excited about attending another Anime North. This will be my 8th AN. My costume plans are Maria on Friday, Jill on Saturday and Lisa on Sunday. I'll be a panelist on the Silent Hill panel on Friday night. See you at the con! :3

May 3rd, 2009
I'm still working on my costumes for AN. It looks like I should be able to get my Jill and Maria costumes done in time for the con. I still have a lot of work ahead of me (and not a whole lot of time) but I'm feeling pretty motivated and excited about working on more survival horror costumes. Hopefully I’ll be able to do some photoshoots in some decrepit areas around the city during the summer.

April 7th, 2009
I'm starting to gather materials and things that I'll need to work on my costumes for Anime North. I'm planning to Cosplay survival horror game characters all weekend so I'm starting a costume of Maria (Silent Hill 2) and one of Jill (Resident Evil 3). Their outfits seem really simple but are actually pretty detailed and complicated. Hopefully I'll get them done before the con. :3

March 22nd, 2009
Just a quick update before I leave for the GDC. I added some future costume possibilities to my list and I also updated the links section.

March 20th, 2009
I added the costume page for my new formal Syaoran costume to the Bought/Borrowed section since I didn't make the outfit. It was still a lot of fun to wear and Cosplaying with Sakura again was nice. (^_^) I'm going to be adding a section for some of my more punk/Lolita outfits and dresses so I can share pictures from photoshoots with photographers like SolarTempest. It doesn't really fit into my current schema so I'll be making some adjustments after my trip to San Francisco next week. I won't be updating here again until after I get back. I should be going to MTAC this weekend although I'll probably only be there for Saturday and I'm thinking I'll just wear a lolitaish outfit (using some of the clothes I bought while I was in Japan) since I probably won't be spending the whole day at the con. I'm just looking forward to seeing people and relaxing before the craziness of my business trip. :3

March 17th, 2009
I made the costume page for my new Heather alternate costume (the unlockable "shut_your_mouth" zipper shirt) which I wore for a couple of hours on Saturday night of Katsucon. I didn't really like how the costume turned out so I didn't wear it for very long, but the photos SolarTempest took of me turned out really well. :D It makes me want to redo the shirt properly. XD

March 15th, 2009
SolarTempest posted his photos from Katsucon recently so I added some new pictures of my Lisa costume to my Lisa costume page. The photos we took in some random dank areas near the con turned out really well despite how cold it was when we were doing the photos (which is sort of evident in the photos since I have a bit of a red nose). XD I now have photos of my Syaoran and Heather costumes as well so I'll be posting costume pages for those costumes very soon. MTAC is next weekend. I haven't actually decided if I'm going to Cosplay, which costume(s) I would wear and if I'm going to go more than one day. I leave for the GDC on Monday morning so I'll probably be very busy next weekend packing. XD

February 19th, 2009
I found a few photos of my Lisa costume online so I wrote up the costume page. I'm expecting more photos in the coming weeks from SolarTempest and Carroll from the proper shoots that I did with them that should yield some really Silent Hillish photos. I'll post the other costume pages from Katsucon soon. I also recently added 2 new link banners to the "Link Me" section.

February 16th, 2009
I'm back from Katsucon and I had a really great time. I forgot to make a post before I left about my final costume plans and what not. XD The con was really crowded and it was a very long and complicated trip to get down to it (my group travelled by car, plane, bus, and subway to get there) which is the major reason why I may not be up for attending the con again. The bigger, nicer hotel for next year does seem really amazing though so I'll have to see if I'm able to make the trip again in 2010. I got a chance to meet some new people and hang out with a bunch of my friends, which made the con totally worth it. I very much enjoyed watching the masquerade and my costumes all worked out and were well received. I debuted all "new" costumes at this con. I use the term lousily since my Saturday, Syaoran from Tsubasa, costume was a bought outfit that I borrowed from Pan. Still, it matched Sakura very nicely. I also wore a quick alternate outfit Heather costume that I had made over the last few days before con. It wasn't a very good costume which I'll need to re-do if I ever wear it again. I mostly made it because I wanted an excuse to try working with iron on transfers and I wanted a shirt that said Silent Hill. I think the experiment sort of failed but SolarTempest was a sport and took some SH themed photos of me that I'm looking forward to seeing. My Friday costume was my Lisa costume. It took quite a bit of work for that costume to come together but I think it turned out fairly well. It was my first time Cosplaying a more womanly character so it was a whole new experience for me with a new set of difficulties. Anyway, I really enjoyed Katsu and hopefully I'll be able to go again if not next year but in a future year. :3 Next up I may check out Con-G and I'll probably at least come for one day of MTAC before my trip to the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. The next month is going to be very busy. Once I find some photos of my costumes from Katsu I'll work on the new costume pages.

February 2nd, 2009
I'm currently working on my Lisa costume for Katsucon. It's about 50% done right now so I'm hopeful that I'll have it ready for the con. My mom is knitting me a cardigan for the costume (like she did with the sweater and turtleneck for my Ashley costume) which means it's going to be amazing if she finished it in time. I'm going to be borrowing a formal outfit from Pan to wear as a "closet Cosplay" version of Syaoran from Tsubasa for Saturday of the con to match with Sakura who is working on a new Sakura costume. I'm vary lazy at working on new costumes now that I work full-time but I still have quite a few Cosplay plans for this year. XD I still haven't finished the backlog of costume pages, but I should have them done before March when Stray Wind Cosplay celebrates it's one year anniversary on the net. :D I also want to add a new page for some of my Lolita dresses that I've worn. I have some nice photos from DTAC that I want to post of the dress that I bought while I was in Japan. <3

January 19th, 2009
I added the costume pages for my Terriermon and Sailand Cooro costumes. Just four more costumes to add.

January 6th, 2009
I added the costume pages for my Haku and Bandaged Syaoran costumes.

January 2nd, 2009
Happy New Year everyone! I added costume pages for my Kamui and Envy costumes. Just 8 more costumes left to add. :3 I also added a new future potential costume to my future possibilities list. I may Cosplay Rebecca from Resident Evil/Zero this year if I can find decent material to work with since I like her character and I would love to Cosplay a character who shares the same name as me. Also, I'll be attending the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco this year as a business trip for work. This isn't really Cosplay related but when I go to the conference in March hopefully I'll take a lot of photos and perhaps post them here on my Cosplay site. I'm really looking forward to the trip! (^^) Katsu is coming up soon. I really need to start working on my Lisa costume since I’m thinking of bringing it to the con if I finish it in time.

December 27th, 2008
I've added the pages for my Nana from +Anima and my Outo Syaoran costumes. Just 10 more costume pages left in my backlog! :3

December 19th, 2008
I added several new pictures to my Watanuki costume page from the photoshoot SolarTempest did with Sakura and me at Youmacon this year. Now that it's the holidays I have some time off so hopefully I'll post a few of the old costume pages soon.

December 14th, 2008
Just a quick update as I just got home from DTAC. I wasn't at the con for very long since I had to do some shopping downtown but I did enjoy seeing many of my friends and doing a quick photoshoot with SolarTempest of a Lolita dress I own. I'll probably post photos in a month or so when they're up since I like that dress a lot. In other news, I can announce that I'll be attending Katsucon next February, which I'm really excited about. I've been debating about going for about a month now but I finally decided to book a flight as the cost dropped a bit. I'm not quite sure what I'll be doing costume wise since I can't really take anything big. I'm hoping to finally make my Lisa costume from Silent Hill and I may be doing a Tsubasa costume as part of a group with Sakura. We'll see if things work out. :3

December 9th, 2008
I quickly made up the page and posted the images of my Wa-Lolita outfit, which can be found in the Bought/Borrowed costumes section. It's just a small update but that means I'm finished with the Bought/Borrowed costumes section for now. I'm planning to wear a Lolita dress to DTAC next Sunday so I'll probably make a page for the outfit and post some photos in the next few weeks. (^^)

November 23rd, 2008
I've been really busy since the beginning of November working way more jobs than I should be. XD I really haven't had a lot of time to work on updates for this site. I really want to get through the costume backlog so I can just update with brand new costumes as they come along and so I can start working on other content for my domain. Hopefully I'll finish the updates in the next couple of months. My domain will be turning a year old in just under 3 months so it would be nice to add some new content when my site celebrates its birthday. I just added pages for my Oishi and Eiji costumes from Prince of Tennis to the Bought/Borrowed Costumes section. I Cosplayed those characters way back in 2004 and 2005. It was a store bought costume and one that was borrowed from Pan. (^^) It was a lot of fun to Cosplay as tennis players and the Seigaku uniform was really comfy. <3 I cheated a bit and the blurbs about each costume was copies almost word for word from Cosplay Patchwork. XD Still that means I'm two costumes closer to getting over the backlog. I just have thirteen more to post. In other news, I should be going to DTAC next month. Hopefully I won't be scheduled to work during the con. I'm not planning to make anything new but I'll probably wear a lolita dress that I bought in Japan while I was there in June or maybe a random loli outfit. If I wear the dress, I'll finally have some pictures of it and I'll probably make a costume page for the Bought/Borrowed Costumes section. :3 I'm also currently debating going to Katsucon next February. Several of my friends are going and are encouraging me to make travel plans with them. It looks like it will be a lot of fun but I'm hesitant to book a flight since the Canadian dollar is so terrible right now. I'll have to decide soon so I'll post about it in the next few weeks.

November 9th, 2008
My first Youmacon turned out to be pretty good. It was a smaller con so it reminded me a lot of Anime North way back in 2002 and 2003 (when Anime North was in the Regal Constellation hotel). I sort of miss AN being a small con taking up one location. Anyway, the Hyatt where Youmacon was held was a beautiful building, it was a 5-minute walk from a mall, which was really neat, and the video game room was amazing. :D Youma had a lot of interesting strong points that sort of make the con unique from the other cons that I've attended in the past. Youma is probably my last con of the year. I'm debating attending DotCon next weekend because I would like to support the new con in town but it really depends how much work I have to do with the many jobs that I'm currently working. XD I can't attend Ohayocon next year, which makes me a little sad, since I did enjoy attending the con this year (granted I didn't participate in a single con event). My only cons plans thus far are AN, Fan Expo and Youma again since Youma is pretty close to Toronto. I'm hoping to attend one other American con next year but I'm not sure which one yet. Anyway, in terms of site updates, I added some new pictures of my Ashley costume from the shoot I attended on October 19th. I also posted the costume page for my new Watanuki costume that I wore to Youmacon. I got to be a part of a xxxHolic group with my friends Sakura and Andy, which was awesome. :3 I'm looking forward to doing a shoot with them later since we didn't get a lot of full trio shots together. I'm still eagerly waiting for more pictures from Stillvisions and SolarTempest that I’m sure will be really cool. :D Finally, I added a new link to the links section. I really want to update the links section since it's so small right now. XD I still need to finish working through the costume backlog too. (>.<);;

October 29th, 2008
I have a bunch of new photos of Ashley from a photoshoot I took part in on October 19th. Unfortunately I can't add them to my Ashley costume page until next week but if you check out my page on ACP or Cosplay.com (which is linked in the about me section) you can see some of the pictures right now. :3 Youmacon is this weekend and I'm really excited about going. I only have one new costume for the weekend and that's Watanuki from xxxHolic, which I will be wearing on Saturday to match with my friend Sakura who will be Himawari and Andy who will be Doumeki. I'm really looking forward to our group. :3 I even made a little Kudakitsune which was my first time ever making a plush animal prop. On Friday I will be re-wearing my Ashley costume with some Halloween surprises and on Sunday I'll be wearing the Celia costume that I bought since it's pretty much weather appropriate. I still have a ton of things to do before I go but I'm looking forward to a fun trip. Next week I start a full-time job so that should make Youmacon extra special for me. :3

October 12th, 2008
SolarTempest posted his photos from Fan Expo so I added several photos to my Ashley from Resident Evil 4 costume page. :3 I loved participating in the group photoshoots at Fan Expo this year. We ended up having a random RE4 group by nightfall on Saturday night since we had a Leon, Wesker and Ada. I got some great shots with Jordan who was Cosplaying as Leon. I'm still hoping to do an outdoor shoot of my Ashley costume this month so I can get some fall photos that will hopefully be RE4ish. Progress is really slow with my Watanuki costume though. Job hunting and trying to play through Silent Hill Homecoming has eaten up a lot of my time to work on the costume. (>.<);; Hopefully I will still get it done in time for Youmacon.

October 1st, 2008
I updated the Future Possibilities section with new characters that I would love to Cosplay in the next couple of years. I'm currently working on a Watanuki costume for a xxxHolic group that I'll be a part of at Youmacon this year. :3

September 12th, 2008
I added my volume 7 cover art Syaoran costume to the Anime/Manga costume section. Hopefully I'll finish more costume pages and post them soon. I really want to get through the backlog.

September 4th, 2008
Fan Expo was a lot of fun this year and probably the best one that I've been to in the last few years. :3 It was a great chance to see so many of my friends and hang out in a fun con atmosphere. I loved the displays in the dealer's room and the costumes that I saw at the con were fantastic. I finally got a chance to wear my now finished Ashley costume and I'm really happy with the way that it has turned out. I could still make some small adjustments to it (like getting a better belt or straightening the wig) but I'm pleased with the way that it is and I might not bother ever changing it again. :D It's defiantly one of my favourite costumes and I'll hopefully get a chance to wear it to several cons in the future. I'm hoping to bring it to Youmacon unless some other costume prevents me from doing so. The boot covers are still very difficult to get off my legs though. XD I had a blast participating in a few Resident Evil shoots at CNAnime that I'll be posting pictures once SolarTempest gets his photos up. I did end up wearing Orihime on Friday of the con but I don't have photos of it. I'm hoping to update this costume and possibly wear it to Youmacon but we'll see. I love my wig for that costume but it's slowly dying. :( I wore Ashley on both Saturday and Sunday of Fan Expo so I didn't actually get a chance to wear the lolita dress that I bought in Japan. Hopefully I'll get a chance to wear it out and get some nice photos of it eventually. :3 In terms of updating this site, I added a few new pictures to the Matt from Digimon costume page in the Anime/Manga costume section. These are the really nice photos that SolarTempest took at the picnic. I also added a costume page for my Biyomon from Digimon costume. It's not one of my best work but it was a fun humanized version of the Digimon character that I made for a dance group number back in mid 2005.

August 21st, 2008
Fan Expo is almost here and I'm really looking forward to attending that convention. CNAnime '01 was my very first con and so Fan Expo always makes me feel a little nostalgic. :3 This year I'll be rewearing some of my old costumes because I didn't get a chance to make anything during the summer and I have a lot of old costumes that still need some work. I'll be rewearing my Orihime costume on Friday and on Saturday I'll be "debuting" my now completed Ashley costume. I'm glad that I finally finished that costume since I really love Resident Evil 4. <3 Finally, on Sunday I'll be wearing a Lolita dress that I bought in Japan and Cosplaying an impromptu version of Himawari from xxxholic. Xxxholic is one of my current favourite Anime and eventually I would really like to seriously Cosplay as Himawari and Watanuki. I will be updating my future Cosplay plans section at some point after CNAnime. :D I also have some new photos of my Matt costume that I will be adding to the site soon.

July 30th, 2008
I know updates to this site have been slow in coming but I haven't forgotten it. I've been busy with a lot of things since my family went on vacation for a month and a half and have left me behind to attempt to find a job and maintain the house. I just added the Piplup page to the Anime/Manga costume section. I'm not that happy with how my Piplup costume turned out but I had fun being part of the epic Pokemon group at AN this year. No more Pokemon or Digimon costumes for me for a long time possibly ever. XD I did end up going to Polaris in mid July for one day and it turned out to be an interesting convention which was a totally different environment and experience from Anime cons and the mixture of cons that is Fan Expo. It's not really my kind of con so I probably won't be going back but I still enjoyed the chance to check it out this year. :3 I ended up wearing my Sasuke costume to the con because what's more scifi than a ninja? XD I did a photoshoot with Stillvisions so I might have some nice new photos to add to my Sasuke costume page in the future. :D I do really love Cosplaying as Sasuke. In other news, I finally got a new wig for my Ashley costume. The colour and quality of the wig is much nicer and better for the costume but the style is still a bit off (the wig itself isn't even in length all the way around). I'm planning to use it anyway because I could never be 100% accurate with her hairstyle. Ashley always has her hair behind her ears and I can't do that because my natural hair is brown and it would show despite using a wig cap. The style of the wig looks nice on me anyway and the new wig won't shed like my old one. XD Now I just need to remake my skirt and I'll finally be finished with my Ashley costume and it will be ready to wear to Fan Expo and Youmacon. :3 Expect to see pages for more of my older costumes soon!

July 5th, 2008
I created and posted the costume page for my new Matt from Digimon Adventure costume. It was such a random costume but enjoyable to wear as part of Hurricane PBS. I'm not quite sure what costume I'll be making next. Until I get a job I want to keep my plans fairly simple (mostly due to cost and the numerous older costumes that I'm currently fixing up). At the moment I'm working on Ashley. I'm still hunting for a new wig and I'm making a skirt. I'll probably hold off on my plan to Cosplay as Jill until at least September or October as I want to hunt for secondhand and cheap clothes to alter for that costume. I have everything I need to make Lisa right now but I have very little motivation to Cosplay her. XD I'll get that costume together eventually but it will definitely be happening. I have confirmed that I will be going to Youmacon in late October. I took the plunge and bought my pre-reg (thanks to my friend Andy) for the con and I'm hoping that if I have a steady job I'll be able to take Friday off to attend the con. I hope that plan won't backfire. (^^);; I still plan to check out Polaris next weekend. I'm not quite sure which costume I'll wear but I'm looking forward to attending a scifi con that isn't being run by Hobbystar. XD

June 26th, 2008
I've been getting distracted from my computer and updating this site for a while but I now have an influx of nice photos of several of my costumes so I'll be updating as fast as I can over the next few weeks (as I also start job hunting). I posted the costume page for my Hitomi from Escaflowne costume. I loved Cosplaying from Escaflowne and being part of a group. I lack photos of our trio but at some point before the end of July I'll be participating in an Escaflowne shoot so we'll have nice group shots. :3 Hopefully I can fix up aspects of my costume so I'll be a bit happier with it. I Cosplayed as Matt from Digimon at a Cosplay picnic last Sunday. The costume was really random and made over the course of 5 hours by Pan and me one afternoon. I'll work on that costume page next and I should have it up soon since the costume wasn't very hard to make. It was really cool to be part of Digimon group though. :D

June 14th, 2008
I'm back from my trip and I had a blast in Japan. I'll probably add a miscellaneous section to this site and post trip pictures as well as future pics of lolita and gothic fashions that I own. In the meantime, SolarTempest posted some of his con galleries from AN (ironically on my birthday) and I adore the Silent Hill pictures that he took of me as Heather and Crimson as a nurse. :3 The shoot was awesome. I never expected the back of the Doubletree to be so rundown and have a construction site. XD It may no entertain other people but it was a wonderful photo backdrop to me. :D I posted 14 new pictures in my Heather costume gallery as well as updated the description to reflect the changes to the costume. Hopefully SolarTempest will post the Escaflowne gallery soon so I can make the Hitomi page. By mid next month I need to meet up with Pan and Crimson to do a proper Escaflowne shoot before Allen runs off to Japan.

May 27th, 2008
AN has come and gone for another year. I had a great time this year and participated in a lot of excellent Cosplay groups. I loved the Silent Hill photoshoot SolarTempest did with Crimson and me on Friday evening. I'm looking forward to posting some shots from that shoot. Saturday was a blast because I got to revisit my love for Escaflowne and Pan and I were really surprised to find that our friend Crimson had secretly made an Allen costume to Cosplay with us. :3 We had an awesome mini group. I really should fix up my Hitomi costume though. (>.<);; The giant Pokemon fanart group was great on Sunday although my Piplup costume was really rushed and I'm not that thrilled with it. I was hoping to write and post the info about my new costumes early this week but I don't really have time since I'll be leaving for a 10 day trip to Japan on Thursday morning. I'm really nervous and excited about my trip because I've never left the continent before and I've never been on an airplane. XD I'm really hoping I'll have a great time and it will be a fun break before I start seriously looking for a job in June. Once I get back (on my birthday ironically) I'll start working on this site again and I hope to finally get it up to date by the end of June. At the same time I'm hoping to finally finish making my Ashley costume and start work on a costume of Jill from the first Resident Evil game. Hopefully June will be a productive and successful month. :D Bye for now!

May 21st, 2008
I've really been slacking off in terms of updating this site. (~_~);; I've been distracted by work and my AN costumes. I've finished fixing up my Heather costume and I'll be wearing it on Friday of the con. Hitomi is almost done but just needs the hem of the jacket redone because it was a bit off and I'll be Cosplaying with Pan (who will be Van) on Saturday. My third costume, a human version of Piplup from Pokemon, might not be happening because I just started it today. (>.<);; I'm disappointed that it got left till the last minute and I blame that on the problems that I had with working on Hitomi and a cold that I picked up over the weekend. If it's too much trouble I'll give up on Piplup but I'm hoping (thanks to my mom bailing me out) that it will be done to be worn on Sunday of the con. :3 Pictures and the pages for all my new costumes will be posted within a few weeks of the con (it might take a while because of my trip to Japan from May 29th to June 9th).

May 8th, 2008
I'm still working my way through my AN costumes. Hitomi is coming along slowly but surely. I have yet to properly start Piplup (but I'm hoping to start it early next week) but I'm almost finished fixing up my Heather costume. I'm just painting and adding the straps to the boots and hopefully I'll have that done in a day or two. I just finished resizing pictures and writing up the info about my ANBU costume. You can find that page in the Anime/Manga section.

May 2nd, 2008
My Claire from Heat Guy J costume has been added to the Anime/Manga costumes section.

May 1st, 2008
My Rey from Gundam SEED Destiny costume has been added to the Anime/Manga costumes section. Only three weeks to go till Anime North! I hope I can get my Hitomi and Piplup costumes done in time. I'm also fixing up my Heather costume with a new wig and hopefully a paint job to the boots so the costume will be more accurate. I'll be a panelist on the Silent Hill panel so I'm hoping to wear my costume to the panel. :3

April 29th, 2008
I finished the page for my Yzak costume. This is one of my favourite costumes because I love the character and the look of the ZAFT uniform. Since I re-wore this costume with a different wig to Cosplay Rey, I should have that page ready to post in a day or two.

April 25th, 2008
Now that I'm officially done university (besides waiting for my marks and my graduation ceremony) I'll hopefully get some serious work done on this site. I just finished the page for my Haruhi from Ouran High School Host Club costume. I didn't make the costume (the jacket was made by and tie was altered by my friend Pam) so it was a quick page to write-up. I'll make the pages for my Gundam SEED costumes next. :3

Just a quick update since I'm in the middle of studying for my last exam before I finally finish university. I've added my Ashley from Resident Evil 4 costume to the Video Game costumes section. That costume is still in progress, however, but I've worn it a couple of times so I figured it deserved a page. :3 I'll be updating more often starting late next week and I'm hoping to have most of the costume sections posted by late May so I can start working on the Conventions/Events section in June.

I added the Celia from Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life costume page to the Bought/Borrowed costumes section. I didn't make it myself but it was a lot of fun to wear and Kevin (SolarTempest) took some really nice pictures of the me. :3 Now I can get back to working on the backlog. XD

A new costume has been added to the Anime/Manga costume page. I Cosplayed a casual version of Touya from the Manga Shinshi Doumei Cross at March Toronto AnimeCON last weekend. It was a simple costume but I was part of a group with a bunch of my friends so I had a great time Cosplaying the character. I'll have a page up for the other costume I wore to the con (Celia from Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life) soon. I didn't make that costume but I had fun wearing it. I've decided that once I get most of my costume pages posted on the site, I'll be making the Conventions/Events section into an archive where I post what costumes I wore to each con to keep a record of the years when I did costumes. That will probably be updated in a month or so when I finish university. I'm really excited that soon I will have more time to work on this site (but first I have to get through final assignments and tests). (>.<);;

I added the info page for my Alessa from Silent Hill Origins costume to the Video Game costumes section. It's the newest costume that I've made and one of my favourites. :3 I love SHO!

I added a couple of new costumes to the future possibilities list and I added an info page for my Sven costume to the Anime/Manga costumes section.

Welcome to the grand opening of Stray Wind Cosplay. I'm working on getting the various sub sections of the site up and running and taking care of bugs. Thus far I only have costume pages up for Angela, Heather, Mikan, ANBU Sasuke, Flame Syaoran, Ruka, Akabane and Kagome. I'll post more costume pages as I find time to do the write-ups and thumbnail the pictures. I'm hoping to get all the costume pages up by the end of April. I'm also still toying with ideas about some of the sub sections (such as what to put in the Conventions/Events page). Anyway, do check back for more updates from time to time. :3
