About Me
My name is Rebecca and I've never really had an online alias that has stuck with me. I suppose
the name I go by is "Stray Wind" which I've been using since early 2004. I picked the name
originally for my Livejournal because I wanted something that could represent the fact that I'm a bit
of an oddball who walks to the beat of my own drum. I'm 25 years old, I was born, raised and reside in Toronto, Canada and my birthday is June
9th. My favourite colour is pink and my favourite animals are whales. My favourite foods
are chicken dishes and sweet things. I'm a bit of a tomboy and I guess I was a bit of a nerd when I was in school. XD I graduated from the University of Toronto in June 2008 with a degree in the arts. I majored in Anthropology and minored in Sociology and East Asian Studies. A few months after graduation I stumbled upon an awesome job working full-time as an administrative assistant and writer for a small PC game company. It's sort of a dream job that I never expected to get with my university degree. XD I also work as a part-time web assistant for a major charity.
Anyway, I enjoy Cosplaying (as you can
tell) and attending Anime/scifi conventions. I love the atmosphere and excitement of going to
conventions and the ability to act out the role of another through Cosplaying is always a blast.
I consider myself a dreamer who would much rather cling to my childhood than grow up. I think
the chance to escape from the social norms and roles that Cosplay allows has a lot of
appeal.
I enjoy a lot of different Anime/Manga series. Some of my favourites include the Vision of
Escaflowne, Heat Guy J, Naruto, Hellsing/Hellsing Ultimate, Big O, Black Butler, GodChild and +Anima. I have
an ever growing love for Playstation games and most of my favourites are all from the horror genre. I
love all the Silent Hill games, Siren: Blood Curse, Bioshock, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil 5, Rule of Rose, Left 4 Dead, Fatal Frame II, Haunting Ground, Uncharted 2, Bayonetta
and Clock Tower 3. I also enjoying playing the Kingdom Hearts games (because I like Disney).

My favourite movies are Star Trek, Zombieland, The Dark Knight, The Mummy, Jurassic Park, Stardust, Pirates of the Caribbean, Silent Hill, the Resident Evil
movies, and pretty much any Johnny Depp movie such as Sweeney Todd and Charlie and the Chocolate
Factory. I also adore the Nightmare Before Christmas. :D Tim Burton, Johnny Depp and Danny
Elfman are my dream team for movies. :3 I tend to like horror and fantasy films, but I also have
a soft spot for comedies.
I also like asian ball-joint dolls and I own several of them. Of course, my greatest love is spending
time with my friends. Over the years I've developed a strong bond with a number of people who
attend conventions in the Toronto area and several of my friends have also attended university
with me. I don't know where I would be or what I would have done without my wonderful group of
friends who are always there to support me and lend me a hand when I need it. :D
